Hello everyone! So I was wondering, is it possible to create poses in Blender using accessories from CAS? I wanted to create a pose with a Sim "fixing" their glasses (the ones I want to use are CC by the way). But without the glasses themselves in Blender, it's very difficult to calculate exactly where they are located in the Sim's face, so when I finish the pose and try it in-game, the Sim's hand would be way above the glasses, or not even touching them at all, etc.
Thank you in advance for any further replies!

hi! Yes, you can certainly import any object in blender. You can see this video tutorial from flowerchamber Once your object is in blender, you have to:
- right click the object in object mode to select it.
- Right click on the rig of the sim to select it, and look for the head bone.
- Right click it to select that particular bone.
- Right click the object again, and shift+right-click on the head bone to select both objects at once.
- Once both items are selected, press ctrl+p and select "bone". Now the object will move when the head bone moves.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong honestly. I'm trying to attach the glasses to the head bone so it stays there but it's just not working. It's stuck in the middle of the grid.

can you show me a picture of what you see in your screen and tell me the steps you've followed? that would help me to know in what part exactly are you stucked.
Here's another video specifically for the part in which you apply the bone to the object.

Okay, here's how I'm appending the glasses.
I go to my Mods folder, copy the glasses and place them in the S4S Mods folder. I choose Create 3D Mesh, select the glasses, and export the mesh (on LOD 0, but if makes any difference, please let me know).
Then I go to Blender, open the premade pose, go to File > Append > glasses.blend > Object, and I choose "rig", "s4studio_mesh_1" and "s4studio_mesh_2". But, it loads in the middle of the grid. The Sim is very far from the glasses.
"rig" is the Sim model, and "rig.001" are just bones that were imported with the glasses. Looking at the structure formed by them, I can see that the glasses are in the correct place on that rig, but not on the Sim.
I can't remember exactly how I did it (it was kind of difficult for me), but I was able to do what you told me to do, and when I moved my Sim's head bone, the glasses also moved, but they weren't attached to the Sim itself, which is my main issue at the moment.

ok, it's not necessary to select the rig of the glasses when choosing the meshes. it just gets added by default. I'm still not sure what you mean by "in the middle". can you please share the blend (with everything appended) ?

Hello, I'm not in my computer right now and I won't be until Saturday so I can't send you the files just yet, but if it helps I'll try to explain what I mean. You know when you import a "blank animation" rig on Blender and the Sim is standing on a T pose in the center of the grid? Well, that's what happens with the glasses, as if they had to be posed too, along with the Sim. But the pose for the Sim has already been made. So my question is, is there still a way to attach the glasses to the Sim's face, even though I'm using a premade pose and cannot accurately replicate it for the glasses?
(I'm so sorry if I'm still not being clear enough! x_x :'()

Ah okay. i understood perfectly, i thought the glasses where on the cordinates 0,0 (on the floor). What you have to do is reset your pose before setting the glasses to the bone movement. After you're done, change back to "pose position" and you'll see your pose again.

Ah, I can see how that would work. I'll try it on Saturday when I'm on my computer again and I'll let you know if it works, I think it's likely that it will, but I want to try just to be sure. Thanks for being so helpful!!

so i have been looking at tutorials all week on how to attach a damn accessory to a sim to make poses and I couldnt understand a piece of it, i was getting really frustrated cause on the list of things I thought would be the simpler of tasks in the program just putting an accessory on a sim seemed to be one I could handle. I don't know if I was just tired or what but this one little tiny thread of info helped me figure it out in 5 minutes and I felt so damn slow , it was so simple lol. thank you for this old thread.
