So I go to create a mesh and I choose the object/cloth I want. When I export as a .blend file and I import it into blender nothing shows up:

I see you're using Blender 2.78. I have myself issues with that version too. It seems that it works for some and for others, it doesn't. I would suggest getting Blender 2.70 as usual to work with Studio. At least for now util that bug is fixed.
