I'm quite new to making objects, but I've created a window seat in blender and when I try to import it into sims 4 studio it doesn't register, it just says importing mesh and then doesnt show the mesh I've created in the preview area, just the original object. Please help!

You need to add/edit the cut number. If the original mesh has a number of 0001 or whatever, that is what you give the new object, and then delete the original (or simply remove the number, and s4s won't recognize it).

Thanks! I think it worked because at least it's doing something now. It's showing an error message that says it's unable to find the template footprint. What should I do to fix that?

Is S4S giving you this message or the game? It reads like a placement error the game sometimes gives me if the footprint isn't linked. You can try fixing that ... or simply link to your package, so that someone can have a look what might be wrong. =)
