Hi, I'm not sure how to phrase this as English isn't my first language, but I'll try. About a year ago I tried to retexture some hairs, mainly because I'm really picky about textures when it comes to my game, I prefer it to be as similar as possible. At this time I didn't have any problems at all, it all went smoothly. Then, recently, I wanted to try again (I've had a long break from sims 4, but now I'm back), and so I did the exact same thing I did before, but now all the hairs end up looking like this after I've imported my own texture: imgur.com/fHwYZHW (the image didn't show up but here's the imgur link) It looks like this in game as well, and I know it wasn't like this when I first tried it, as I still have some of my old retextures in game and they look fine. So I'm really stuck, I've tried everything I can think of, googled and searched the forum for hours, but I can't seem to find anything. Am I honestly just this stupid that I can't find the obvious solution or is there something new you have to do other than just pasting the new texture on top of the old and importing it?

hi! To me it looks like you're saving the dds image wrongly. You should save it as dxt5 with alpha.
If you still have issues, please share the .package and the texture you're importing.

I have it set at dxt5 interpolated alpha, as I used to earlier. But now I don't even get the choice to import dds-files, as they don't show up in my folder.. so at least I guess I found my problem, but I still have no idea how to get them to show up :(

You need to chose the import/export format you want to use. Just click the "type" and a list will slide.

Did you tried with both .png or .dds as Interpolated alpha?
Anyways, share your files so we can help you out.

Yeah, the photo I posted was with a PNG-file, then I tried with a dds-file, but with the same result. Sure, I'll share them, but I'm not sure how hahah.. how do I upload them here? Sorry for being the worst and not knowing

Don't worry. . You need to upload them to a host. Those are webs you can save your files and share the link so other people are able to download it. Examples are : Onedrive, Dropbox, Mediafire, Mega, etc. Once you upload the files (zip or rar prefered, so everything is in there) you can share the link and paste it here in the forum.

Ohh right, I probably could have thought of that if I actually tried lol but here and here they are, the texture is really messy since it's just for testing though. Hopefully it's the right things, if not I'll upload the other stuff as well!

i can't download any of the links, you don't copy the address from the top, but click on "share link" and copy the link that the page gives you.

hi! I'm guessing you're trying to clayify the hair right? If so, you're missing chunks of hair on the alpha layer. If you're just changing textures, then check the original hair texture and use that alpha layer.

No, I was just trying to change the texture, the file I uploaded was just really bad since I was just testing everything, but it's finally fixed! I have been exporting the texture as a PNG this whole time, but when I exported it as a dds-file, there was no issues. Thank you so much for your help! :D
