Hmm, I'm looking to create non-glowing vampire defaults so unfortunately the mask solution is not going to do the trick for me. I tried making the emission map blank and black but neither worked. Is the emission map saved in the RLE2 image file or are they saved differently? I guess I'll have to wait then... Or find a way to make my cat iris match the maxis one. Then again, I think the glow of the eyes is far too strong in general, even if I could reduce it a bit that would be helpful already. The teal eyes in particular are so bright that you can't see anything of the texture except for the iris and shine.

I'd prefer not to use masks because it's annoying to apply them to every existing vampire and every future vampire the game decides to generate. Default eyes are much more comfortable If there's no alternative way to do it with S4PE I'll just wait. Thanks for your help!

Sims 4 Studio's newest version (3.0.1.3) is able to make new vampire eye colors using the Add CAS Part Swatch feature (which you have always needed to use to make eyes due to the way EA set up all the eyes on a single eye color chooser). @wj , I plan to answer you in the bug thread also (haven't had a chance to get there yet), but the eye package you sent to me that was made using 3.0.1.3 works perfectly in my game (flashes) and does not override the original. Further, I just tested this again to be sure before answering here, and the vampire eye I made showed up on its own swatch and did not override the original. There was a bug in 3.0.1.2, but that bug has been fixed.

Well I'm looking to remove the glow on eyes that replace the original vampire eyes. Or at least mute it a bit, as it is right now it completely washes out all of the detail. I think I have the newest studio version, I just don't know what to do with the emission map to make the glow disappear.

@wj erica87 After some time testing with OM we figured that most likely the issue is that you didn't change the Swatch Thumbnail color. If you don't, the EA eyes will override your changes and not show them. If you change that color the eyes work. This doesn't afect the "custom thumbnails", so if you want to make your own .png thumbnail and import it will work. Just make sure to also change the swatch thumbnail color. I had this issue myself and when I created my eyes, I left the fully red color swatch that came by default (I cloned red vampire eyes). Now, If you change it to another color it will work fine. If you will be importing a custom thumbnail the color can be anything (exept the color EA uses for eyes) since your custom one will show up instead. This is not a bug with Studio. Aparently is just how EA handles the eyes.

Yes. But the issue you had is different that the one I had. Your eyes override the EA ones. That issue has been solved in the new Studio version. If this is still happening to you. Please delete your Studio's folder. Remove everything that has to do with the program. Also the Documents Studio's Folder. Then redownload the program and try cloning the eyes again from start. Import your textures and change the swatch thumbnail color. My issue was different. The EA ones were overriding my changes. Like they were not made at all... I didn't know that this also happens for hairs. Since I was importing a custom thumbnail I didn't think about changing the swatch color... I guess I don't do enought CAS to know this things

@wj, the package you sent me is already working as you stated you expected it to work (it flashes and does not override the original). Please check your mods folder to be sure you removed any made with Studio 3.0.1.2 before checking the one you made using 3.0.1.3. erica87, choose Add CAS Part Swatch and select the vampire eye you want to change. Once you've named and saved it go to the Texture tab in Studio. In the Texture box, you will see a list of all the images in the .package. Click on the Emission one. When you click on it, you will see a purple button that says Make Blank below the Texture box. Click that and save the package. This will make it so that your new vampire eye will not use the Emission map. That will stop it from glowing.

Hey there - so I followed the emission tutorial only to find out that I didn't have to go through all of those steps considering I'm on the Harmony edition of S4S. I was able to change the vampire irises as well as make them permanently glow (no pulsing effects) as I had wanted to - however on the eyes with white scleras they are being affected by the alpha layer somehow, making them brighter than the normal eye scleras.
How do I go about excluding the scleras from the alpha layer while keeping the iris as I had mentioned above?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I managed to figure it out, nevermind!

Jeez, I hope this thread isn't too old, but I'm really desperate. 😶 I'm currently working on a default replacement for the vampire eyes, but I just can't get the glow under control. I only want certain parts to be glowing, not the whole thing. I tried to create several emission maps, but nothing seemed to work. The EA glow keeps overriding every change I make. Does anybody have an idea what I'm doing wrong?

Is it the right size and have you try saving .dds vs .png?

It changes, but it doesn't seem to save for some reason. Whenever I open my project, it's gone again. I made sure it's the right size, which should be 1024x2048. Can't save in .dds, though, because I couldn't find a trustworthy plugin for Photoshop CC 2018 for Mac.

Apart from saving as .DDS, I can't think of anything else to fix it :s Could you upload the emission map .png and your .package so someone can take a closer look?

I might have discovered a bug in Candy Apple. I was able to make parts of the vampire eyes glow, but only right after creating a new package file. After saving for the first time, the emission map can't be changed anymore for some reason.
