this is literally my first day using blender. I'm getting the basics, but there's ONE thing that I can't seem to find online, and that's hiding nodes (faces) of a hidden part of the mesh while editing the visible part. like, i'll move the nodes, but a completely different set is left behind. like this:
note that I'm editing this mesh for personal use only, I'm not redistributing it because the original creator specifically said not to. I'm a decently fast learner, so I get how to move the nodes, but those ones left behind are in the way AND can be selected, which I don't want to do. what is this, and what can I do about it?

hi! to hide parts of the mesh press H. when you're done, press ALT+H to unhide them.

I tried that, but it seems it's difficult to track down each node that's left behind when I move some of the mesh. it's like the ones left behind are a shadow of what I just moved, and it's transparent on one side, but the other side has texture on it. (sorry if I sound really dumb, I am a novice)

To fix that just click this box once: Then you should be able to select with b and highlight all of them at once.

Also remember to change the start clip. You can read about it here. i always always do what's suggested above and the link i'm giving you when working on blender. It doesn't matter what i'm creating, i always have those things configured.
