I've gotten some messages about people not having a mesh in their file. I don't understand because this works for me and I uploaded my mesh to all LODs. Could someone double check this file? Idk why it would work for me but not someone else... simfileshare.net/download/175228/

I don't understand including and not including meshes in packages...do you have to do something extra to include it if you do "create standalone"? It think I had the same problem with the hair I was trying to do. Only difference is there is no problems on my side for the dress....

If you do "create standalone" then people will need the original mesh in their game to be able to use your recolors. "Create standalone" From what I understand means you are only adding textures that will pull from the original mesh. The dress shows up, but this is what happens when I equip it in my game:

Both standalone and add cas part require the original mesh. So you have to link it on your download page.

But it is an original mesh...how do I add the mesh to it? I thought it was saved when you imported the mesh to the LODs....

The problem is not the mesh, you can clearly see it on one of the posts that the tester posted. None of the files you shared have specular/bumpmap or shadow texture. Try importing those.

Everytime I try to put bump and specular, it does this That's why I deleted them... When they are blank, they look fine on my computer...Why is it doing this on others? And when i do add spec and bmp why does it mess up on mine?

You should NEVER delete resources. You EDIT them. Please share the textures files you're trying to import.

dds file won't upload, here are screenshots Why is it ok on my computer but not on others? Also, by looking at the screenshot she shared, there's nothing necessarily wrong with the dress itself...It's messing with the skin... wouldn't that be something else?

You can use the "Make Blank" button if you don't want the effect of the bump, specular or shadow texture. But you should never delete anything from the warehouse. Also, as others have mentioned before. If you use the "Standalone Recolor" or "Add CAS part" feature the original mesh .package will be required in order for the your recolor to work. It might show up for you because you have that .package in your mods folder already. You need to check the creator's TOU allows including the mesh or not. If it doesn't you can provide a link to the orignal. If it does allow it, you can try using the "Create 3d mesh" option. And once you cloned the original .package using Studio, be sure to pull all the original mesh resources using this feature: EMBED ALL EXTERNALLY REFERENCED RESOURCES (CAS) Doing this, your new recolor won't need the original .package and it's mesh. Also, just to make sure. Is the MESH yours or someone else? You didn't clarify that but it is important to know. In your Creators Studio you did not link back to any other creator, so people using your recolor won't know where to get the original.

Ok, I didn't know why it was doing that. I used parts of an EA mesh and referenced another dress, but yes this is the only mesh out there like this. Do I need to do this to all things or just CAS items?
