If you have the installer version all you need to do is run the new installer version. It will deinstall the old version and install the new one for you.

The issues people were having with vampires eyes were a sequence of events that have nothing to do with the installer. One of the first versions of Studio after vampire eyes were released didn't handle the unique properties of vampire eyes well because it was handling them like ordinary Sim eyes and they aren't like ordinary Sim eyes. This was on top of an issue with "Add CAS Part Swatch" that hadn't been reported previously so it could be fixed. An update following that corrected these issues.
However, vampire eyes, unlike other types of eyes, each have their own emission map and mesh. This makes them completely different than non-vampire eyes and they must be handled by the creator in a different way. This has all been covered elsewhere and has nothing to do with Studio's installer. While it's possible that Studio's deinstall feature isn't perfect, it did not cause a problem making vampire eye recolors. No one needs to feel they should manually deinstall Studio each time it updates just because someone had problems making vampire eyes with a version of Studio that came out right after vampires were released before we had a chance to fully study how vampire eyes work.
Further, if anyone notices specific examples where Studio's deinstall feature isn't functioning properly they can feel welcome to post about it in the bug thread.
