I was trying to create a full makeup face mask. Lips, eyes, cheeks etc. So, I did one but when I got it in the game it, the facemask, was a different color than the original skin. So I tried to make a plain skin with just a star on the cheek to test and make sure it wasn't something I did wrong. Still the same problem. As you can see here, around the edges of the face, the tone is slightly different. I tried it with all of the skin shades but it doesn't fit any. Any idea of how to correct this? I could try altering the face mask color to match the rest of the skin by adjusting the brightness etc in Gimp, but I thought there might be some reason for the mismatch and if I find out what it is maybe I can do it an easier way. Also is there any way to get templates of the other skin tones? I only have the one. I got it online.

Please upload your .package so others take a look.
But the best advice I can give is to soften the edge of the mask. In my experience all masks I've used have had a visible difference to the color of the skin, as they are adding a light color that overlays the skin. I haven't seen such a distinct one though. When you made the mask, did you use a skin color or a monochrome color?

This was just a test so I didn't' alter the skin at all. Just cut the skin and placed a start on it, to mark it. The rest of it is EA's skin. At least I think it is. I got in online in a forum. . It's shows up normal in the preview in Sims 4 Studio.

To upload your package just go to mediafire or google drive and upload the file there and then post the link in the forum

You need to edit alpha, erase everything except the star. Just extract any EA's face mask texture and compare.

What I had initially wanted to do is create a whole face mask. So that I could make celebrity masks by altering the EA skin. It produced a mask similar to this one. The face didn't match the skin. So just to make sure It wasn't something that I had done I created a new mask from the EA skin. No, alterations, I just placed the star on it to mark it so I could recognise it in the game. I'm guessing for some reason when you make a face mask out of the skin it doesn't match the rest of the skin? That confuses me because I've seen others face masks and they've all blended into the skin. Maybe they adjusted it to match somehow. IDK. Wish there was a tut on this kind of facemask but I haven't seen any.

Aah, got it. For this you need to change composition method to 3, take a look at this thread. Composition method numbers define how skin detail will blend with EA's skintone. When you create a face mask for blending with EA's skintone, it has to be in grayscale. Take a look at custom skins like poppyskin from S4models, or Abriana skin from Ms.Blue, and you will see what I mean.
