Hiya all I'm looking to redesign my art of magic mods spell system, for those of you who have played it what did you like what could be improved and do you have any ideas or things you wish to see implemented for the project.
Currently I would like to lock the spells behind skills, Dump the 3 elements system, Add a ink crafting system using reagents from the base game (crystals and such) then use the ink to craft a scroll that the sim can sell in their retail store or can be consumed to learn the spell permanently , I also want to add spells I left out like emotional changers, mind control, and a teleport spell that works like the vampire mist teleport and finally a spell to cure vampires for mages that combat vampires, Im not promising anything becuase I dont know if its possible yet but the final addition (for now) will be mage duels that are based off your choices rather than random chance.
Look forward to hearing your feedback

Personally, I think you've started a really awesome and incredibly detailed project. I really enjoyed the "learning" aspect of the 3 elements system and that you can unlock the spells in whichever order you wish. Whatever you create to replace it, I think that would be a cool aspect to keep. I look forward to seeing what you come up with! You've already created content that measures up to the current occults.
The three elements system works up until I need to add more spells (ran out of elemental combination spaces) but what I was thinking is like a system where you find the right herbs/flowers and make an ink relative to the level of the spell you wish to learn, so I'm starting off with moonlight ink at level 1 to to write scrolls for brambles/technomancy/arcane familiar. You then read the scrolls to learn the spells if your magical theory skill is high enough . After learning the spell its yours forever no need for reagents, Would love to hear your feedback on this
That sounds really cool! I like that its such a detailed process to gain powers and level up. It'll make playing as this pseudo-lifestate a lot more interesting. So, will each level of the skill have a specific ink to create and learn from?
Sweet! It would be interesting if you could incorporate some sort of sim-to-sim teaching aspect, similar to how vampires can offer each other "vampire training". This could help them increase their magic skill.
I've been inspired by a great Skyrim mod called spell research and now I would like to get a group together to make this a reality. Basically the new spell system will be based on the magical theory skill writing theory's and producing spells by putting the thesis together and writing them. What I would like help with is making a magical research desk mesh, new animations for spell casting and researching at the desk, and general xml work to get this mod finished . Please PM me if your interested and we can start a joint project
