Does anyone know if there is a way to find out which version of the game certain CC is for? For example, I just got back into the sims after about six months of break, and since I was last on, Origin has updated the game to the latest patch automatically. A few pieces of clothing are no long showing up in my CAS. I figure it must be because they are not compatible with the latest game version. I'm wondering if S4S has a way of checking, and/or updating/downgrading what game patch a piece of CC works with.
Thanks!

Usually, updates from the game are mostly impacting CC mods that require sripts to work. Those scripts write or rewrite functions of the game hence can stop functioning after updates.
Piece of CC clothing are more rare, this could be due to a tag in the CC search, such as evening, sleepwear etc. Since the introduction of Aliens and Vampires there have been some CCs that were not visible for them. This is due to the introduction of an Alien and Vampire tag that is included directly on the package itself. If not ticked, then the piece of CC will not be visible for the Alien/vampire. This can now be fixed using the batch tools from Sims 4 Studio and going to : Tools -> Batch fixes -> CAS -> allow CC for Alien / allow CC for vampire
Other than that, if you see a thumbnail in CAS but nothing when you select it (like empty, hair, or no legs, stuff like that) it means you don't have the mesh required by this recolor.

To add to what Zelrish said, there was a patch back in November or December (can't remember exactly which one it was) that caused all male bottom garments to not show up in the game. Studio added a batch fix for that problem too. Usually, if a patch breaks all of a certain kind of garment, Studio will add a batch fix for that so creators don't have to update all their stuff and players don't have to wait for them to do it or pitch the item if they don't.

In my case, it isn't so much a whole class of items so much as it is one or two tops, and maybe a hairstyle or two. It's not game breaking by any means, simply inconvenient. I was hoping there might be a way to fix it manually since it's only a few isolated objects.

Without seeing the item, it's difficult to say what the matter could be. It could be the case that others have reported this to the creator and it's been updated. It may be worth checking out or reporting it yourself.

Indeed, I'm in the process of doing that right now. First I'm playing around with tags and batch fixes to see if that helps. Odds are it is my own fault rather than the creators. Before I bother someone, I want to confirm I'm not the thick one!

Before I bother someone, I want to confirm I'm not the thick one! I generally go by file dates. If the date on a mod or cc is prior to the last EA patch (April 13 wasn't it?), I'd be suspicious enough of it to check the file(s) in question, if things don't look right inside the game. TBH I wouldn't put a LOT of time into it until after the NEXT patch, which people are generally expecting either today or Thursday. I'm more inclined to hope for Thursday, which, with my usual luck, will mean we'll probably see it today. LOL!
