So I'm trying to fix all the books that reference the wrong cover and I was able to get it working in-game except when you drag the book into your inventory. The thumb changes back to the old cover. I've changed the texture, the thumbnail, and the model but it still does this. Does anyone know where I would look to change the texture it references in the inventory? The image below shows an example of what I mean, the book on the floor and the one in my sims inventory are the same book.

I don't know, but have you tried changing the prototype id of your edited work to the hex64 value of your edited work's name?

I just did, it didn't change anything :( They're supposed to be overrides. It looks like they were referencing the wrong models (and therefore textures). I imported the correct model and imported new thumbnails to match the proper cover as well. I can't find any other reference to textures in the tuning for book_playfuldirty either. I'm trying to fix the 'Playing with your Food" book. It looks like it was meant to be a 'playful' book but it's referencing all the 'angry' textures and models.

I have run into that before and not sure exactly how I solved it, but I think some references are so hidden that you can't find them. You probably cleared thumbnail cache while Sims4 is off, but that might be a source of problem. My only additional suggestion is to copy the current object tuning, rename as your own (I think you probably already did that) and see if there is something in that that has a texture string. I looked at the way OM referenced her paintings in the easel mod and that showed me how EA sometimes referenced images ( I didn't know you could insert the image ref for a DST in your pkg via code). I think I am at the end of ideas. Good luck.

Thanks I'll try that. Is there something specific I'm looking for or does a texture string look like everything else?

Something like this
n="texture">2f7d0006:00000000:7CEC96179B85235C
7CEC96179B85235C is the instance id of a dst image in the pkg, although EA images aren't in the package. You could add the image and change the last bit in the code for YOUR image.

I remembered what happened to me earlier and how I fixed it, it may be similar for you. It is weird but this is what happened. RoastedCorn kept coming up with RoastedChicken in menu image, then I realized the first 8 letters are the same. I changed the name to CornRoasted and problem disappeared. Oh and changed ids also, name change changed the hashed values.

Was it the actual name of the object you changed? And if I change the hashed values will it still override the originals?

I changed the instance id to the hash of the new name CornRoasted. Somewhere I think textures are pulled from the first 8 characters of the name, somehow stored in the hash id.

It's really weird too, if you put the book on a display then click on it and have your sims move it around (like put into inventory or put away) the it keeps the cover just fine. It's only when you try to drag and drop it anywhere it starts having issues.

Yea that won't work for an override...I'll try a new object and see if I can get it to work like I want then. Thanks a bunch for all the help!
