Hi there, I'm new to CC creating, but want to make some clothes for my sims. I'm working with Blender and got up to the UV mapping stage but each tutorial seems to explain it in a different way.... I have a mesh for a top that isn't yet joined with the nude mesh. imgur.com/a/BeqEgSo here is what I'm confused about: 1. Do I have to make seams in my mesh for UV Mapping? 2. For the UV Mapping background image, should I use "base texture" that came with the nude mesh, "diffuse map" that came with the shirt I initially exported from S4S, or the colorblocked/colorcoded image that goes along with this imgur.com/a/X6LVP ? 3. What's the point of moving around the pieces of the UV mapped mesh? 4. I heard something about not putting clothing pieces below a certain point because it would mess up any other CC someone has downloaded. (https://youtu.be/nVzw0nVb4VE at 16:20) How do I know how far down I can place the mesh pieces in the UV Map to not mess it up? Thanks in advance, Siggy

Hi charredsky . 1. Yes. 2. There should be no background when you create diffuse texture. That colorblocked texture you use only as a reference for placing uv map. Check this tutorial about basic recoloring of texture, it shows what it should look like. 3. You answered to this question in your question #4. You need to place your uv according the uv map from this thread. If you retexture EA's mesh, you don't need moving uv around. When you create uv map for your custom mesh most of the time you need to move your uv to the right bottom corner.

Thank you! That cleared it all up.
