I'd like to make some new trees but have found that when I change the truck & leaves UV size or even just move them about on the map the trees float in the game. I know from making the bird feeder trees that the problem is the bones and or weights. I had help with that project or I would never have finished it, as I know nothing about either. But what I'm looking for is a tut or work around so I can make new trees that don't float. I was going to try to un- link the leaves then append them again (I did something similar with the bird feeder tree) I just haven't got back to it to try. Am I missing a tut that covers this and if not any advice would be brilliant. Thanks

hi! All trees in game "float" like that to resemble wind blowing... i think it's on their tuning. So if you don't want that.. then you can clone any floor plant instead ? And maybe add some outdoor / plant tags.

No I mean float off the ground lol The whole tree lifts as I enter the lot and sways like the leaves do. I need to learn how to re tune(?) them so just the leaves move and the trunk stays on the floor. I have made a still tree but I couldn't help thinking it would so much better if those leaves moved like the others.

Try to Check on the Vertex Group Names and the Weight Paint....A Cap i was working on, Floated because i had to run the File in the Game and then RE-OPEN the File to REPAINT the Weight. I don't know why it was doing this but it seems 2-Times is a Trick to get things to work...Crazy! ha!

Thanks Steve I had to do something similar with the bird feeder. I have no clue about weight paint but I'm willing to give it a try and learn something new

Brujah and OM posted about Transferring Weights and the Vertex Groups, i kind of Combigned what they Posted and do my own Ritual with it. I have noticed that 2-Times is a Charm, for some reason. I Place my File in the Game - Run the Game - Check the File on a Lot - Delete the Object, or Cas Object without Saving. Then, i reopen the File straight from the Mods Folder and Check the Weight Paint again. If you need any Help, let me know P.S. - Really Sorry about the England Terror poo...Hope All is Good!

I really must stop making stuff and learn about weights and vertex groups, I will look at those threads when I'm more awake. Thanks for the offer I may well be back and take you up on it. As for the terror stuff here I haven't seen the news, so I have no clue what has been happening. I lead a very quiet and solitary life so unless I have visitors the outside world is another planet most of the time. I know today is election day and from what I do know its all bad, Friday is going to suck. Thanks for thinking of us

I often use trees to clone for non-tree items and I have to keep them indoors so that they don't animate

I used the lollipop tree, it shows the animation in S4S but it never moves in game even if you have seasons.

Ok so some of us weren't in the initial project and well ... could we get more info on how to make the animation for the trees ? No I won't use the "lollipop tree" ( it isn't a tree, it's a bush/plant ), because I need to FIX trees that are floating around like gravity isn't a law of physic. From what I gathered, I need to vertex paint ? Put all tutorials are for CAS objects and thus I don't understand a thing. Some help would really be appreciated.
