Alright, so I'm pretty brand new with anything to do with modding the Sims. S4S has made it a little easier to experience, but I have a question.
If I have in-game object A, and I want it to perform the menu option of in-game object B, can this be done? Can someone give me a quick run down of how to make it work?
Basically, what I'm wanting is to take a set of the decorative bottles that came with my game, give it a quick recolor, and then use it in my game as a bar. "Tend Bar" option(s) disabled, so that a sim can just "Make Drink..." or "Practice Making Drinks". I'd also like the item to only place on counter tops, similar to that way microwaves snap to counters.
It seems like it may be simple enough if I have all the information I need to do it. Currently, I've tried it out on my own; the new object appears in my catalog, but the moment the item is bought, the item disappears.

My suggestion is to create clone of bar, import your new mesh into it, Extract the bar tuning into your pkg, Rename tuning krissykins:whateverthenameis Copy this name into tuning line of object definition, Open the tuning and remove the super affordances you don't want.
That should do it

Thanks for the response. As suggested, I cloned the bar, loaded the different meshes, loaded the texture, and then everything tuning related. This is the object I've got in my studio. This happens the moment I change the (first) LOD0 mesh (my first step after starting up the project). It remains to look like this through the entire process you've outlined for me, start to finish. I'm not sure what's happened. Dropbox link to .package file here ( corrected link to .package file ), if needed.Edit: On another unrelated note, I'm not sure why I have two accounts on here?

This seems correct, from the picture, although I assumed the table mesh would be included. You just need to import a table/counter obj file mesh into the mesh and raise the bottles on top. That should take care of it.

The grey-panel-box-bottom is the size of the original bar, not the new bottles. Another matter is that the bottles don't look anything like the texture, although that may be because of the first issue.

I can take a look at it, but the link is not working correctly for me. Could you post the link again? Also, it looks like you opened two accounts, one in May and another this month.

This link should work. Sorry about that. Yeah, I seem to have signed up when I first found it, then I forgot about it a few months later. My mistake, I'll delete the newer account krissykins.
