Okay, so the creator of a hair (For The Sims 3) quit and has given permission to me (contacted this person privately) to do whatever I want with their custom content. They made this beautiful hair and I would love to convert it to The Sims 4! But my problem is, I've looked for tutorials and all have just done me wrong >.<I used THIS tutorial, but it just gets very confusing because I have never converted hair before. Does anyone know a more simple tutorial, or could someone make a tutorial themselves? I would love to see a video tutorial because when people write out tutorials I get very lost. Thank you!

Hello! my steps is more easy! need just : Blender, TSRW,Sims4 studio!
1-open TSRW and choose your .package. 2.export the mesh as .obj., open s4s and choose a long hair! 3.clone a long hair usign s4s 4.export the mesh for a long ea hair. 5.open in blender. 6.import your .obj 7.transfer the weights from s4studio_mesh_2 using weight mode. NOTE : you need 3 mesh do you should duplicate the .obj rename the first = s4studio_mesh_1; the second = s4studio_mesh_2 and the last = s4studio_mesh_3. This mini-tutorial will show you all the components of an EA hair : Read more: sims4studio.com/thread/134/mini-tutorial-sims-hair-components#ixzz3UvsP9FwK 8. in scene mode replace the none to geom ans tape 0000 for s4studio_mesh_1 and 0001 for _2 and 0002 for_3 9.Save your .blend and import your .blend in s4studio!

Note that if you replace all 3 meshes with your hair mesh that, depending on the hair style, you may end up with your hair meshes hair sticking out through the hat if the Sim wearing your hair puts a hat on. Two of the Studio meshes are "hat chop" meshes that are only seen in the game when the Sim puts a hat on. I've seen many creators simply leave those two meshes alone rather than try to duplicate them, no one seems to mind that, and if this is your first project involving hair that might be the easiest way to go.
Also, when you first see the EA original hair in Blender make sure you scroll through each of the Studio meshes to determine which is the main mesh that you want to replace and which are the hat chop meshes. These are easily identifiable because part of the mesh is cut off so the Sim has a bald head on top. If you replace one of those rather than the main mesh your hair mesh will only show up when the Sim puts a hat on.

Thank you! But hats I won't worry about too much because most of the hair I want to convert is buns because not many nice buns were made for TS4 yet!

adrihihi Step 7 is the same as assigning the bones. You have to transfer the weights from a cloned hair to the hair you are converting. Here is an awesome weight transfer tutorial in Blender by brujah: sims4studio.com/thread/81/weight-transfer-blenderWithout the weights, the converted hair will not show up in game and if not properly done it will look totally crazy in game, like it might hover over your Sim and not move along with them.

I followed Perfect's tutorial and for once I've actually gotten the hair to show up in the game, but I'm wondering how do you texture it? I know TS3 and TS4 have a different way of texturing so I can't just import the TS3 texture for it. Right now the hair is showing up with the model face on it.
I know this is an old topic but I've been trying to convert some hair for a month and always get lost on the texturing part
