I only know how to make solid colors for my clothing meshes but i'd like to try putting striped or floral patterns on my meshes. But it's hard since I need a really small size photo to overlay my baked textures. Any tips and tricks for making fancy designs on clothes?

Hello! What I do is find a pattern, try pixabay.com, publicdomainpictures.net, or freepik.com. Save it, in your photo program resize it to a smaller size, add it as a new layer, and make sure it's set to "overlay." then you can trim the edges (a fast way to do it is to select the texture on the lower layer, invert the selection, then select the pattern layer, then hit delete). I hope that helps, if you have anymore questions let me know! =)
