I'm not sure what you mean about "repeat", do you mean the seam on the side? That will always happen unless you reposition your pattern on the texture. When I work with patterns that aren't 100% repetitive (so something that isn't a stripe for ex.) I tend to "mirror" the pattern so it's not as noticeable on the side seams. If you simply apply a texture to a garment you'll find that one seam looks perfect, because on the texture template the back and front of the garment are side by side (B). But then the other seam will likely not line up (A). So instead of letting your pattern run from left to right (I use Photoshop and normally Multiply/Overlay the image over the clothing), you can apply the texture to the front, then flip the same texture and apply it to the back (on the template they're generally the same width), which should create two perfect mirrored seams on each side. Thank you OM and OM. Yes, I indeed knew I'd need to fiddle with Z axis, but after the fiasco of trying to work out the coords for some furniture slots and failing miserably, I assumed it would be an equal headache with the light position. Turns out it was easy.

The transform value, 2nd number. I didn't know if putting in my own number would work so I was careful and first used a value of one of the other lamps (Photonic Conserver), whose source appears to hang lower. That did lower my light a little bit. So I then I started putting my own number in, and -1.5 seems to work perfectly with the bulb.

*gasp* I think I figured something out. I imported the lightsource of Torcher Inc. (the lantern) and been playing around with Transform values. Managed to lower the source. The value is 0,-1.5,0

You should make a tutorial/thread about everything you know reg. lights on here, Omorfi. Like even the different types. I only know what a PointLight and a Spotlight looks like. Bet tons of people would find that useful, it's one of the reasons I hold off on creating lamps - I know I'll struggle with finding a suitable lightsource.

I see. I don't have the patience to venture into the darkness so I'll just keep the spotlight light.

Nope, I mean the you-know-which-one. I'm aware of the lamps that have better sources. The one I originally cloned off of had the same one, but it hangs way too high. The only reason I went with Scrivello's is because while it's shaded, it has an appearance of hanging lower. Is there a way to lower the source then, so I can just go back to the un-shaded one?

Hmm alright, but won't that light source just drag on the floor then?

I thought I'd give this thread a bump because I'm in the process of working on another lamp. Anyway, none of the in-game lights suit my WIP so I thought I'd use OM's suggestion to tune stuff in the Warehouse. I'm not really sure what I'm looking for, so I've been testing different things out, and recently imported the Scrivello lamp's lightsource as a starting point. The "type" of light is set as Spotlight, and it makes no sense for my kind of lamp (since it doesn't have a lampshade), so I removed the Spotlight and added a new type and chose PointLight. However, upon adding the new type, my properties window is quite a bit different to the window that was there with the Spotlight. I had to choose my own colour, intensity and other things because everything was blank. I also have a bunch of things called U1, U2, U3 to U9, I've no idea what they are. So I filled it out the best way I could (chose a colour and intensity myself, copied the transform number from the old Spotlight), and my light no longer works in-game.

Interesting, thank you OM. I actually found that Photonic Conserver's (GTW) lightsource fits my lamp perfectly, so I used Omorfi's suggesting, but I'll remember to check back to yours if I ever need a more custom job.

Cheers, I'll go have a look if there's any better lights in the game.

Interesting, thank you. The light actually goes very well with your lamp. Mine has a large pendant and it's only slightly lower than the original (the lantern ceiling light), so that light won't really make much sense. But regardless, could you tell me how you exported the light source? :-)

Is there a way to edit the light source on a light? Simple: I cloned off a ceiling light, but my lamp hangs lower. So right now the light source is too high for the pendant that is meant to be emitting the light. Complex: I cloned from a light that only has 1 bulb (and 1 light source), but my light has 3 bulbs. Is there a way to clone to the light source so I have 3?

Ah I see. Thanks for looking into it anyway. I will likely just add some bumps onto the diffuse then.
