Hey everyone! My name is Darinne, I recently turned 21. Been playing Sims since I was 6 or 7 (man, this Sims 2 music still haunts me), and, gotta say, it's a life-long love, especially after I discovered mods. I'm really into occult stuff, knives & swords, poetry, horror, tattoos and videogames (not only Sims). I am battling BPD and depression and try to follow my dream of becoming a game developer, thus here I am, sticking nose in modding community, hehe. ~ If you wanna chat - you can DM me, won't bite ya I swear. ~ <3 You are so welcome to Sims4studio.

One needs to see the package file to be able to pin point what the issue is. So would you mind sharing the package file and blend file

I get confused with all these names. Stuff pack, Game pack, expansion pack... It used to be only one expansion pack and it covered all we needed. This splitting is just annoying and unnecessary to me. Although I mostly use my time creating things rather than playing Sims 3 was real fun to me, I had so much fun that it inspired me to start creating. Sims 4 is a different story, I got the game, a few expansion and it bored me to dead. It still does, I cannot play more than an hour without losing interest. I have fun creating for it, but only because I enjoy the creating process (which I could do for any other game really). The game doesn't inspire a bit to keep creating content to it... Time passes on and they keep bringing this empty packs that bring nothing new or refreshing. The only thing I appreciate for Sims 4 is the aesthetics, they really put some work on it, but it gets all forgotten with the crappy gameplay. You have a great scenery with for taking pictures and that's it. The worlds are 70% decorative stuff, that look amazing but you cannot do anything with it. Anyways, sorry to rant about it :P I feel the same as you. It's just a rip off from them. As far as am concerned, all that different names given to the game packs are just as confusing as hell. Ea is just a crime syndicate messing with the minds of its customers and I feel we the customers are letting them get away with it. And I feel we the players do not have a single voice because if we did, then we would have influenced what they give us. But anyway shut happens

Firstly, it is good to know that when dealing with CAS that there are two uv map to deal with. The uv_0 and uv_1. The uv_0 is the uv template for the Sims body, while the uv_1 is the uv template of the CAS objects and it handles all the objects that the sim wears from hair, rings, shoes, watches hats, caps, bracelets, bangles, and so on. So the uv_1 is like a layer over the uv_0. To understand more on this CAS uv_1 please see this TUTORIAL Again, to understand more on this as regards what is what, please take a look at this TUTORIAL. If you go to the link that above, you will find the template for the sims body that gives you a guide as to what is supposed to be with respect to the CAS item you are making in relation to the Sims body. Meshing an object and applying a texture to it, is totally different from that of a CAS object. So the template comes in handy for CAS objects, to help you place the part where it to be. As for an example, if you look at the page that the above second tutorial points to, to in Sims4studiio, the second image shows a purple colour at the top left of the template that refers to HAIR. What it means is that when you are creating a Sims hair, you have to map the uv of the hair to that location and at the same time apply the texture of the hair to that same location. Hoping this helps you out to a more understanding of the questions that you asked.

Firstly, is that a Sims 3 slide animation for the Sims 4 ?
What did you use as a base clone FIR the Slide. Was the animation successful in blender when you played it.
From your video, the Sim animation looks way pretty off the slide. So am wondering if the animation was just converted and not adjusted to fit and work with the positioning of the slide.

The tutorial, inabadromance pointed you to is very detailed to understanding bone and joint assigning. On a side note, and with reference to your image shown that has all the color lines indicating which is which, I recommend you should try to so the below two things (A) The shadow mesh, is a bit off the mesh. Try moving it so that it is centered under the base of the laptop. (B)The blue line which indicates the light group will not affect your mesh, and leaving it floating like it us will look a bit weird. So I will advice you select that group and hide it inside the laptop or move it to sit at the origin under the laptop. If you are not sure on what I just said, take a look at THIS TUTORIAL With regard to the bone joint assignment, if you follow the tutorial inabadromance pointed to, you will notice that the ghostwriter computer which you used as a base will give you two bones/joint name. The transform bone and the bind mouse. Referring to your image with the colour parts that you have shown above, only the shadow mesh does not need a joint/bone assignment. The bind mouse bone controls the mouse movement when the Sim is using the mouse. Therefore, only the mouse is assigned to this bone alone and nothing else. Any other part you assign to this bone will make the part move in relation to the mouse moving. The transform bone joint, is static which means anything assigned to it will not move. From your image, the light mesh, the screen mesh, the laptop and the mouse pad all needs to be assigned to this bone. Hope this helps too.

I have a lot problems to add texture. I am trying to do a new mesh and recolor of a wand. But the png texture is in a square, and I can't import it... Can someone help me? It will be nice if you can attach an image to aid your explanation. And if it's fine by you, you can also share your package file with the image you are having the problem with.

Here is a video of the laptop in action. The screen stays in place and the laptop moves around...really weird. Don't know how to fix that one.I can't get the video to post...sorry Well, I guess if the laptop is moving around, then it might be due to joint problem. Because you are using a base clone of a computer with mouse as a part of it, there are two joints involved. One is for all the mesh excluding the mouse, and the other is exclusively for the mouse. I am guessing that your laptop has the joint for the mouse assigned to it. Check and see if that is your case
