I have made transparent a lot of curtains successfulliy with your tutorial, orangemittens, also I never change the burnt states as for me it seems to be not necessary! But now I have problems making some of the newer curtains transparent, i.e. the country curtain from Cats and dogs. As there is no "Alpha Blended" in die Diffuse VariantID (Step 10), I copied "Transparency" that has Float as its Typecode and a single Value line for that float - like you explained fort the burnt variants (Step 12). Then I changed it to "AlphaBlended", made sure that there was "1" in the ,[0] Value line and saved. The same with the medium mesh. But in game it is not transparent, so I must have done something wrong.... Same for me with the newest curtains from My First Pet. Is there any new way to handle them? Thanks for all your help & work!

Hi waterwoman , Not all trees and plants use this "VertColor", so it can be that your tree doesn't has it. Colors in game can also look a bit different because of the time of the day, maybe that's a part of your problem? Is there a possibily for you to link to a screenshot from your tree in Studio and in Game? You can also upload your package file here so someone can take a look. Okay, hope i got the right ones for you. Basically i just need a smaller version of this base game tree. Changed nothing to it except for the size. But the top of the tree turns into a greenish color. Same happend to me when i tried to resize the same tree which is used in the City Living version as a decoration tree for pavements - comes along with a little fence around it. Here are my screens. I took the picture of the trees inside because you can see more of the greenish tone. Also here is the file. Thanks in advance for your help ...maybe i'm jut blind :D LINK

Hiya, I'm having the same problem with one of the base game trees. Tried to find the menu in the shader folder but i can't find it at all. Maybe something changed with the newest Sims4Studio version? I'm using version 3.1.0.1 (Wishes). For now i went to Warehouse - Model LOD - Meshes - Edit Item - ? Thanks for all your hard work 😉 Take care, Waterwoman Hello Waterwoman, As far as I know nothing has been changed, could you tell me which tree you're recoloring? Or try these steps: Warehouse > Model LOD> Meshes > Edit Items > Then scroll down to the material dropdown arrow. Another Material line should be in there with behind it Material block (You can't do anything with that), but underneath it there will be a line called "Items" with behind that "Edit items", if you click there you should get the same window as Brujah showed. Search for "UseVertColor" in there and change it to "0" If you see lines called PosOffset, then you scrolled down to far and clicked the second Material Edit items button. THANKS FOR THE QUICK RESPONSE I followed your instructions and found the right spot but i can't find the last one called "UseVertColor" it's not in there. The tree i'm working on is called "treeLotMedGENAspen". Are there differences for tge trees and plants? Kind regards, Waterwoman

You need to save your item in Blender as a .blend and then import that into Studio. There is a tutorial showing how to replace the EA mesh with yours posted HERE. Thanks for the quick reply. I will check this out!

Hi! I'm a big fan of your detailed tutorials and normally everything is fine but this time I got stuck (or i'm too stupid) :D Worked my way trough the tutorial and at No.20 it says "Swap out the original mesh for your mesh"... but how? Is their a special way to do that? I want to replace it with the Day of the Dead Candle, which has now four candles and for this one I need to add a flame. Hope someone can help me out (sorry for my bad english) Thanks for your hard work! Waterwoman
