Hello everyone, I am making a small 1x2 rug recolor with added fringe and unfortunately it has a weird shadow contour defined in the mesh: I should add that I picked this rug as a base because it was the only one the right size and with transparency as far as I could tell, needed the transparency for the fringe! Is anyone of you patient enough to explain to me if there is a fix and how I can do it? I'm trying to learn a bit more about the whole 3D modelling stuff but so far I don't understand a whole lot. package fileblender fileHuge thanks in advance to you lovely people! PS: Question for another day: Is it possible to clone the mesh so that people don't need the Parenthood expansion for the rug?

Hi zozothebrit Did you check your bumpmap btw? Cause this over-lit thumbnail is kinda typical from a bumpmap with a white alpha (now that I know about this issue)(the dds plugin from photoshop tends to not save the alpha for whatever reason.) I'm a noob - no idea what a bumpmap is. BUT you might be right - I have the dds plugin but have only worked with .png so far because its easier. Could there be something lost in translation when I import my texture recolors as a png? And can you explain how to avoid this if I switch to working with dds? I would love to learn more. Thanks for coming back here to try and solve this! If i was you, i would export the generated thumbnail, open it up in photoshop and replace the bright carpet image with the texture you've created for it. Save it and reimport it and KABOOM good looking thumbnail for you! That's actually what I decided to do as a "quick fix" - I created custom thumbs for each swatch, which was a ton of work, so no permanent solution unfortunately :/

Hey zozothebrit Thumbnails in my game are normally lit, yes. One question is: Do you see the thumbnail as bright in game as well or only when you open the package in S4S afterwards? Yes, I do. This is what it looks like: I am wondering if emptying the cache would help in your case or make it worse (as in: all your in game thumbnails would become like this -_-). Maybe removing all your mods and leaving only the new one where you want to generate the thumbnail (having deleted it from the package beforehand via S4S) would bring a different result that would show that one of your mod is guilty. Or maybe reinstalling the game could help. Some stuff to try out. So I cleared all the thumbs in the package, removed all the mods from my game, deleted the cache and loaded the game only with those round rugs - same problem. The only thing I haven't tried yet is reinstalling the game but I need to figure out how to save my savegames first! So chester: No solution yet, did you find one?

Hi Zelrish! Thanks for your reply. No, I don't have any lighting mods in my game. Just CAS/Build/Buy CC. From your question, I take it you don't have that same problem with game generated custom content thumbs? Do yours looks normally lit? Anything you can advise me to try? Because if not, I'll just have to accept my fate, so to speak.

Hey there, I've been making some new CC and the catalogue thumbnails of my new rugs are way too bright: I've noticed this is a thing with all the CC I make and I can't help wondering if this is an error or if Sims4 does that automatically? Can I do something to regulate the brightness of the catalogue thumbs? Any help is appreciated.

They look great! Are you Dutch yourself too? (as the artist is) Hi Bakie, no I'm German Wout is living in Australia though, not sure whether he moved there or was born there (Have to ask him at one point). Thanks for all your positive responses! So it's been a little while and I finally came around to do make some more CC. First off, here are two very simple earring recolors that I did because I got frustrated with the basegame swatches: And then I continued with my painting series, this time featuring a painter from Belgium named Pol Ledent, who kindly gave me permission to use his art for this project. The images look amazing in game. If you'd like some of these, here's my tumblr! Currently working on more painting recolors with different framings. Oh, and I finally learned how to make custom thumbnails, in CAS as well as for the buy-catalogoe. Was super fun to make a thumbnail overlay! I was planning to look into creating meshes from scratch, but after watching a couple of tutorials, quite frankly, I think it's not for me. Looks super complicated.

Mathcope Bakie jkaliszewWell, thanks guys! Your feedback means a lot. Today used my inspiration for creating more CC with Sims4Studio. Used the two meshes that came with S4S: However, I'm waiting on feedback from the original artists behind the paintings. I'd hate to bring CC in the game without respecting other people's copyright. If they're ok with it, I'll publish those very soon :>

Hey y'all! I'm zozothebrit. Well, technically, I'm not. She is: That's Zozo, my British Shorthair cat. (One of three. Crazy cat lady, I'm well aware.) I stole her name for my EA account, since my usual nick "mercurycode" was already taken - which had not happened to me before. Most of the time I just create digital art with my own photo material, but once in a while (talking once a year) I sit down to create Sims4 CC. Here's my Sims4 tumblr: zozothebrit.tumblr.com/Here's my art tumblr: mercurycode.tumblr.com/What else is there... I'm 25, from Berlin, Germany... and I love everything creative. Seriously, Everything there is. Art, writing, reading, cooking, fashion, gardening, tv series and movies, directing short films, listening to music, composing music, video games, content creation in any form. That's probably why I have trouble deciding what I wanna do in life. I wanna do it all! Only thing I'm really horrible at is carpenting (sorry third grade handicrafts teacher!). I might include a picture of my Simself while I'm at it: Yep, that's Brendon Urie next to me. Also, my Simself managed to lose quite a bit of weight. Contrary to my real self. Hey, playing the Sims 4 has to have some perks, right?

Bakie and littleberry - Thank you! I can't say why it took me almost a whole year to come up with new CC, but I tried Bakie 's youtube turial about mural wallpapers today and love the results: If anyone wants to find these, they're on my tumblr! Once again thank you to Bakie - your videos are really helpful and easy to follow.
