Bah nevermind, I found it. In case anybody else has the problem, it's the tiny button at the bottom of the window that says "Proportional Editing Mode." I blame my tired eyes.

First off, let me say how much I appreciate this tutorial. I learned on 3ds Max and now use Modo at home, and Blender is quite different from both of those. You tutorial is well written and easy to follow, however I am stuck. I am at the part where I've unwrapped, scaled, and hit L to select a ring. That all works perfectly. However, when I hit G to drag the selected ring over to the other, the entire map stretches. I am sure it is something absolutely stupid and I'm just too tired to figure it out, but if you have any ideas I'd appreciate it. Meanwhile, as it is late, I'm going to go sleep and look at it again in the morning, at which point I will go "you dummy, it was right there the whole time!" lol
