I hear ya. I have a huge list of traits I want, these two careers (at least), and two aspirations that I want to either learn how to mod myself or find someone to help me with them. Not only am I super busy, which makes it really hard to actually learn to mod (since I'm starting at literally level zero) but, more importantly, everyone else seems to be too. Either way, let me know if/when you get the time. I'd love to work with you on this project. As for the three-branch thing, I'm fine with keeping it at two since I mostly only have characters that I want to be stage actors anyways. I wouldn't mind making a movie star branch for entertainer or its own career eventually, but I'm fine helping you do the stage actor thing for now <3.

Hey fellow simmers;
I'm back with yet another request.
I don't know about you, but I often find myself disappointed with the aspiration options and I'm constantly trying to think of more that could be added to the game. Well, I recently had an idea that I'd like to collaborate with someone to make a reality: a "Lazy" aspiration.
There's two ways to go about this: focus on a sort of "Pleasure" or "fun" route alla the Sims 2 Nightlife (I loved the idea of it, but I found it very poorly implemented), or go for basically just someone who is super lazy and just doesn't want to accomplish anything. There could be an overlap there, with milestones that call for the sim to sleep a certain amount of time or watch TV a certain amount of time, but I think the "pleasure" route would require things like reading and video games while the "lazy" route would require things like...doing nothing.
It's also possible to do both. The more I'm writing, the more I see that they could really both exist separately if someone was willing to help me with both.
Now, I don't know what all is possible with creating aspiration milestones (I know next to nothing when it comes to modding), but I would be happy to collaborate closely with someone to learn more and come up with the list of milestones so that all that would need to be done is actually implementing the mod. I'd also be willing to write any flavor text needed for the mod.
Let me know if you're interested!

Also, might I suggest a Hogwarts' education career down the line to go with your stuff pack? :-X

Oh man, BrittPinkieSims! I love your fashion career and, while I don't use it, I thought your Harry Potter stuff was amazing. I would love to collaborate with your on an acting career project. I'm quite happy to do any and all flavor text and whatever else you might need. Just let me know!
Would it be possible to do three paths? Stage Actor, Musical Actor, and Movie Actor?

Hey fellow simmers;
I've recently realized (well ok, I realized this a long time ago, but it's only now become an irksome problem) that there are a few careers that are inexplicably missing: acting and some sort of performer. Both seem like they would be excellent additions to the entertainer career (I understand why Comedian is there but come on), so it's a little sad they're ommitted. I feel like we'll get them in some sort of fame-centric expansion pack, but it leaves us SOL for now.
So I was wondering if someone would like to help me develop these careers. I have a rough draft of the acting career - complete with stage actor and movie star branches - worked out, and I figure the pop idol could just be a third branch for the entertainer career (I'm told that sort of thing is possible), so there would only be five stages for that one. I haven't worked out the pay or promotion requirements or anything, but I'd be willing to do that if someone shows interest.

Hey all, I have started compiling a list of traits that I am interested in collaborating on. I can provide ideas for buffs/debuffs/etc as well as any flavor text needed to make the mod look appropriate. Just let me know what you need from me. I've compiled my list into a Google Doc that anyone can comment on (but only I can edit it): docs.google.com/document/d/1yWKg91mNI-RYF_qzCZ4UE5T6MMswwojI-473XtteE9k/editFeel free to take on any project you might want to do (there's also some career ideas and aspiration ideas I'm tinkering with), just make sure you comment on the doc if you're interested in taking on one so no one doubles their efforts (unless they really want to take a crack at something). Also, message me so I can stay ahead of what projects have been taken. Thanks guys! I'll continue to update this list. If there's consistent interest, I'll occasionally bump this threat so people know when there's something new.

Hey guys, new to the community but not to the Sims, and I have something I want to discuss the possibility of with the modding community.
I'm a complete noob when it comes to modding, so pardon me if this sounds completely inane and asinine. I'm more curious than actually requesting any sort of mod (I know we're not supposed to make requests on this board anyways), so consider this a symposium more than anything.
Many, many months ago, I had quit and given up on the Sims 4, but I immediately came straight back when EA announced their patch to make gender more fluid and less binary. While simplistic, I loved that they at least acknowledged some of the spectrum in game terms, allowing us to make characters who may be "male" in a strict sense but also have female characteristics, or vice versa. I also like that it's much easier to switch gender and even sex on the fly, even if the game mechanics themselves don't really acknowledge it. As a transgender individual who has always been fascinated by the fluidity of gender and sex, I have always tried to incorporate some form of transgender storytelling into my game, even if I had to do so in a more narrative and less mechanical sense.
But I was wondering what the possibilities were, now that these mechanics are actually incorporated - however simply - into the game, our ability to use mods to play with these features within the game mechanics (rather than having to enter CAS to change a sim's gender features). For example, could we create an item - a "potion" perhaps - that could change the Sim's gender? Or have them get corrective surgery? Or even just add a command to the mirror that alters their gender/sex/whatever. In my various projects since returning to the game (I spend way more time world-building/planning than actually playing), I have noticed that these gender features - a Sim's ability to become pregnant, their peeing situation, even their body frame and actual sex - are represented in a Sim's traits (hidden, of course), just like their walk type. Now, I've played around with this a bit. I can't figure out how to console command all of this (i.e. traits.remove_trait or traits.equip_trait...I don't know what the console name for the walk cycles are, or even if they can be affected this way), but with radial commands in debug mode, I know we can remove walk cycles and replace them, which immediately changes a sim's walk cycle.
Can we do this for gender?
In my own experimentation, I found the sim's sex (male vs. female) represented by a trait, and I can remove this trait (again, via radial commands, not console commands). However, I can't seem to find the opposite sex trait (the one I removed is available in the add trait menu, but not the opposite sex trait). HOWEVER, I was able to remove the sim's physical frame trait (while not accurate, I'll refer to this as their "gender" because it's basically how they present, even though there's a lot more to it than that) and replace it with the opposite gender, which, after a brief delay, did indeed change the Sim's frame shape.
Now the question I have, as a complete modding novice, is this: can mods create commands/items that can alter a sim's traits? If so, this would create a lot of possibilities.
So to continue this discussion, if you folks are willing, can a knowledgeable modder weigh in? Even if you've no interest in exploring this sort of thing, I'd love to hear if it was at all possible to create a more immersive way to alter a sim's sex and gender within the actual game, rather than having to go into CAS to do it. It'd be nice for telling stories, if nothing else.

Hey guys. I'm looking for goggles for children, something like SrslySims' cyber goggles (http://modthesims.info/d/545774). In lieu of that, I would accept glasses that appear somewhat tech-y.
Anyone know of something like this? I've had no luck.

Gonna bump this once, though I'm guessing it's gotten no responses because it's not possible.

Disclaimer: I am a complete modding noob. I do not know what is and is not possible in a mod and what modders can and cannot accomplish, so I don't know if this is just complete nonsense...but maybe it'll get the community's creative juices flowing.
Since EA recently made the idea of gender more fluid, and has increased the player's ability to change their Sims' gender on the fly, I was wondering how possible it would be to create ways to adjust those features within the game within the game's mechanics. I noticed that many of the gender features in the game - whether the sim becomes or make another sim pregnant, their toilet "status," even their actual gender - is represented in traits that you can access with various commands...so is there some way to create an object to alter or replace these traits? Is there some way to tie it to the Doctor career to simulate gender transitions or gender reconstruction surgery? Or is the only way to alter these to enter into the CAS menu?

If anyone is still interested in this, please message me again. I was bad and forgot about this thread (I posted this request in multiple places), but I still have plenty of traits I'd like to see made - and maybe a career / aspiration or two if anyone's interested in that.

Hey all! First time posting on this board. Be gentle.
I've recently gotten back into the Sims 4 again and my first goal whenever I start playing again is to basically repopulate the world with various characters from my own stories/roleplays/whatever over the years. In the past, I've made due with vanilla Sims, but I recently got an itch to actually do some modding...and this primarily means tweaking the woefully unimpressive EA base traits and making a bunch of my own. I currently have ideas for around 40 traits, some extremely simple, some quite complex, some maybe even impossible, but I love to dream, I love to scheme, and I'd love to have someone dream and scheme with me!
The problem is, I'm one step above clueless when it comes to modding, and even with Zerbu's (probably) incredible Mod Constructor (which I can't understand AT ALL), I'm pretty much lost as to how to make my ideas a reality. SO, I'm reaching out to the community. I'm willing to do the work myself if someone would be willing to help walk me through the Mod Constructor program (I'm not dumb, I could probably figure it out with a helping hand, and it'd probably just require someone walking me through one or two sample mods), but if someone's itching for a challenge or some projects, I'd be happy to hand them off and let you make my ideas a reality! I'll even let you take primary credit for them if you want to upload them after you're done (obviously)
Alternately, we could work closely together on them if you'd like. Whatever works for people!
Feel free to contact me here if you're interested. I didn't want to bog this post down with the list of traits I've dreamed up, so if you want a list, feel free to reach out.
