There will be a new way to learn spells, basically you fill the ley matrix with mana then use the correct energy either ather/primal/arcane/spirit, if you select the correct element (there will be a tome detailing sub elements within the element so as long as you do your research you should succeed) you will then have the option to study spell pattern, if you fail the mana matrix will explode with terrible consequences depending on the energy used I.e Ether will mass time lock everyone around and you will have to wait a full day for the magic to dissipate.
Due to recent events I'm worried sims will be ending on pc what are your thoughts, are we going to see sims fade away on pc or will ea continue to develop, also if it does end what games will you play instead and why
Hiya thanks for your reply, I just finished the first ultimate form which is the litch, I've been thinking or a kind of lovecraftian vibe for the mod, with ancient beings and mysteries, Id like to incorporate that somehow into the mod, which is where the altar idea came from now I'm thinking the spells should be divided into dark and light spells, maybe use the lovecraftian thing for the dark spells and the leystone for the light spells, or perhaps combine all 3 methods the tome reading, praying at the altar, and sacrificing leystone maybe. I've also added a spell tome where a sim can practice magic and read up on spells to find out what they do. finally I've added a few spells to the expert and master levels

The mods future...
I have been a bit stuck creatively for ultimate forms I wanted to create a way for sims to unlock infinite mana and immortality through the mod. So far my ideas have been Guardian (good aligned mages), Litch (evil aligned mages), and Naga (for neutral mages). Yesterday I came up with another idea, whilst playing sims medieval AGES ago I came across a little tidbit of lore that stated genies were once wizards. So the ultimate form could be a genie.
This brings me to my next point I believe that the spells for money system currently isn't good or interesting, so Im thinking that when the player unlocks the ultimate form (whatever it may be) they will unlock a new interaction system that will allow them to grant wishes for simolians. this interactions set will be limited to once per day or possibly even once per sim.
Now for the third thing, the spell learning system is boring and rubbish in its quality so what I'm hoping to achieve is to make a magic learning system that is fun and intuitive, so far my ideas are as follows
The sim digs up ley stone, they then us an ordinary everyday crystal to enchant the leystone which will transform it into a Leystone Tablet or if the interaction fails (based on crystal rarity) the leystone explodes, this tablet is then read by the sim to learn a spell, the other idea is making an altar to the ancient ones that the mage then prays at to learn a spell. I'm not sure about either of these and feel like neither of them are a fun game play mechanic
for the fifth thing I want to create more spells to "play with magic", right now the spells all have very specific functions but none are really just fun spells.
And lastly the spells need a description or spell book to view what they do.
As you can see a lot of things are being considered for the mod, if you have any ideas or desires for the mod let me know and they will be taken into serious consideration

personally I don't mind the splitting of packs because yes they split the packs but they seem to enhance each game play aspect ie vampires (they can do so much compared to sims 3 and sims 2 vampires). Also with every stuff pack we get 1 or 2 new game play items, that never happened in the sims 3, we have game packs to cover fully what used to be side things which is probably why vampires are so good. However I have to admit the expansions are pretty lack luster and the lack of open world really gets to me. I'm hoping the big announcement is that they will be adding open world and cast to sims, I don't believe it will happen but it would be nice.
Maybe a few examples of ideas you have might be in order to see if the other modders interests align , also it would be nice to know what your areas of expertise are , not trying to be mean but it might generate more interest
Hiya motherof70 to replace the fire extinguish animation all you need to do is change the factory bit of the tuning in the extinguish fire xml, for the other thing a good first step is to download the tdescs (official ea site) and the tdesc browser (Mod the sims) they will guide you by showing you what to write
So turns out that I have more free time even when working on the game so I will continue to update sims4 mods and make new ones and add changes and make new stuff for them, lol, Icemunmun has kindly said they will be working with me on the mod as well , however should the sims4 development end I will be returning to sims3
Sorry I don't have sims4 studio installed anymore because I'm working on a game with my brother. if you open the sims 4 studio and op-en my mod click on warehouse the bit that says WildWitch:Statistices_... will be the thing you use for the skill cheat, however please know due to how the mod is built you will have to enter the cheat for each skill level such as 1 then 2 then 3 otherwise you wont have the correct mana motive .
I have some bittersweet news, my brother and I have decided to make a game together YAY, this means I will no longer be supporting any of my mods or working on them, however Icemunmun has kindly said they will take over the project of the art of magic reborn mod.
