Well it literally just wouldn't work, the item would show up but when I went to select the items they'd glitch and not show on the sim for some reason but I figured it out since I apperently wasn't able to recolor anything after that point, something messed up on my laptop and I don't know if it was a virus or something but when I decieded to uninstall and reinstal Sims 4 studio I got it working again. I'll run an antivirus for my laptop but I think it was more my laptop that was the issue.
Sorry and thank you, The only reason I posted this is cause I couldn't figure it out for over 24 hours of work on the one package.

Please upload your .blend and .package file to a site like mediafire or google drive and share the link so others can look. From you description I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish as you mention ears and tails (usually accessories) and t-shirts. These items are mapped to different areas of the Sim body template and would need to be mapped to the area respective of the creation to work properly. Once you post your package someone will be able to give you better advice . Basically I was trying to follow the same steps you would for any recolor, be it CC or EA content, I've recolored several CAS items before but didn't share them because most of them are just recolors of EA items and they usually turned out pretty sucessful. I didn't do anything different and even had the orgional mesh in the mods file but for some reason it glitched out after I tried to use the recolor tail item. THe origional CC was this simfileshare.net/download/169218/ I guess I'm not very good at describing my problem.

I was able to add swatches to a CC item but decided I wanted to share it so tried to make a recolor without the mesh and that didn't want to work at all. The ears for the piece worked but as soon as I tried to add the tail for the set it didn't want to work anymore and I'm a little frustrated and confused as to why. I did everything I was supposed to, I've even made new swatches for origional EA CAS teeshirts so I'm not sure why this isn't working.

Apologies for the double post. However, it's a week later and I'm sharing a link I found today that's perfect for this thread.
LINK TO SITE
I can't get to the post without making an account. Is there a way around that? I don't want an account to a site I'll maybe go to once.

Trying to recolor a skin tone to make one of my own and followed another thread here and I'm not a clever person for the most part. I might also be going about this wrong but I wanted to maybe make a rainbow/tyedye shirt.

Thank you, that's really helpful. I'm not that bright when it comes to things like this, my fiance would have poked around and noticed that but... not me so much ^ ^;
Edit: Ok so I went to import the binary file into the blank package and it's not working somehow. Not sure if I messed up or not. One just didn't show up when I imported it, or I get an error
second edit: Got everything going but I can't find an image to export to recolor

How do you export them into an empty package file though? I have absolutely no idea how to do that. Actually how the hell do you even make a blank .package file? Not all of us know how to do this and I can't find the answers.
