Ok I went there but what I see is different from what menaceman showed and not only that, I went to Model LOD > Edit Items > Material > Material Items > and there's this page. But as you see in the spec area, there's no values which tells me I'm in the wrong place or something screwy happened that made it all 0's. So am I in the right place or no? Cause I'm just about ready to scrap this can even though I really wanted it.

So I've looked and looked and looked and I'm not sure if I'm blind or stupid or both but I'm driving myself crazy looking for the SpecMap entry. I erased every swatch but one and I'm pretty sure I've rummaged through the data on every tab of what's left of my package and I cannot find it.

Someone had a similar error on another thread. Have you tried running S4S and blender as administrator yet?

Oh I see noe menaceman44. Sorry for being a dumb and not understanding what you meant. How do I fix it?

menaceman44 the spec currently in the package isn't the original, I noticed the texture issue and replaced the specular texture with a black, blank one because I thought that would possible resolve the issue. Unless I did it wrong? Thanks for checking it out Leniad! I wonder what could be causing it to look funky up close?

I figured out how to add the assets for my trash can to my post, I also erased the stuff around my roofing since it's been solved. Feel free to look at it. It includes my .psd, the lods from the original trash can that I reimported and the package file with anything else anyone might need.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Peacemaker on tumblr had a tutorial for such a thing?

lavsm I found that "alpha mask threshold" value however, I only found it fiddling through the "text" portion of the material definition and it won't let me alter it?

Ok I was away from my sims gave for a bit but now I'm back! In terms of the trashcan, I basically just exported the lod from the original file and reimported the lods over the second trash can that Fwecka (Lolabellesims) posted. I must not have realized I used a non interactive trashcan for this. I'll redo it on a smaller can that is interactive and try that. I'll also try changing the tuning as you suggested. As far as why the texture is messed up, I have no idea. I did all the textures and such as I would any other recolor, hopefully redoing the package will fix it. lavsm , thank you very much!!! I used png for my texture because it's easier to control transparency but I'll find that value and fiddle with it thank you for the suggestion! I'll also uploaded my .blend files for the trashcan and my .package files for both projects should anyone feel inclined to help me fiddle.... as soon as I figure out how to do so.

I would like to consider myself a custom content creator that's semi-knowledgeable about a lot of things in term of different times of CC and how to make them. I often help friends with their projects, whether it be mesh editing, recoloring, whatever. I like to pride myself on understanding most things at least in theory. However, that being said I'm totally stumped on a couple things. Problem A) I got a trashcan from Get Together I think it was, retextured it and made it BGC by replacing the meshes of a similar sized trashcan. However in game, it has this bizarre like shine to it and I cannot figure out for the life of me what the problem is. It has the correct bump and specular pretty sure, and there's this horrendous shadow all over it. The lid is a nice yellow and the rest of the can looks gret Also, my sim is unable to interact with it at all? I'm not great at meshing/rigging and I'm not entirely sure what I did wrong here. Usually interactable objects have a white outline when you hover over it but my trash can just sits there like it's a decorative object or something. Problem B) I wanted to recolor some of the glass roofing that came with the update a while ago and I made this cool like stained glass texture from a window texture from Get Together in Photoshop and saved all my textures as transparent .png but in game it's not transparent. At All. And when I redid the textures and saved them as .dds, they were TOO transparent or they flat out didn't look the way I needed them too. What am I doing wrong team? I'm totally prepared to share additional screenshots, as well as my .package files/resources for those that would like to help me out. download my trash can assets here (lods, textures and .package)What am I doing wrong team? Are we able to delete specific swatches of files or can we only delete the file itself?

I was making a recolor of a painting but when I load the package in S4, it's red and I'm unable to place it. What did I do wrong?
