OK, I finally figured it out on my own. :D The changes need to be made to one of the same resources that chingyu1023's mod for sims uses, so I will talk to him/her about that. Not all of the traits can be assigned to just any cat or dog. There are the obvious conflicting traits like Active & Lazy, Friendly & Aggressive, etc., but Smart ("Clever" for cats) actually has some hidden conflicting traits that I was able to track down and remove from pets so that I could assign them Smart. Misbehavior_Cat_Scratching, Discipline_Pet_PottyTraining, and Misbehavior_Pet_PuddlesDrink for both cat and dog versions. (Yes, the dog version has a cat-specific misbehavior trait as a conflicting trait. (rofl)) There are a couple more traits that can't always be assigned that I am still trying to figure out. Glutton, and Lazy/Couch Potato. Glutton does not have any conflicting traits; and while Lazy does (Active), most of the pets I tried to assign it to didn't even have Active, so I don't think either is an issue with conflicting traits. So far when comparing these traits to others, the only major difference I've found was with Glutton, which has the following additional code in its trait tuning XML for both the cat and dog versions: <U n="trait_asm_overrides"> <T n="trait_asm_param">trait_Glutton</T> </U>Does anyone have any hints or ideas? Thanks! Edited to add: LOL, I just realized that I never mentioned that this requires Andrew and Orangemittens's Playable Pets mod to select the pets to be able to add and remove their traits to begin with!

So, I want to make a mod to increase the maximum number of traits cats and dogs can have, just like this mod does for human sims. I've never modded before, but I figure that even if the creator of that mod eventually updates it to also apply to cats and dogs, at worst, all I'll have lost is a little time. ...Well, long story short, I've spent a few hours digging around in XML files, and I can't find any tuning to accomplish this that applies to cat and dog traits like for human sims! Am I missing something? I've checked in-game on a dog, and it is definitely limited to 3. Is it possible that this just isn't something that can be done with XML tuning? Is there any other way to accomplish this? Thanks in advance.
