I'm trying to make a mid length see through dress like one Kim wore: m.huffpost.com/us/entry/5033940 In order to make something like this which needs both legs and skirt mesh, I have to follow "How to make a transparent skirt" tutorial and modify my .package file. I can always select a mini dress that comes with base game, but it seems that mesh explosion occurs for certain graphic cards. So I was hoping if I select something more similar to what I wish to make in terms of length, this issue might be solved. Oh and I recognize you from tumblr. Thanks for liking my posts<3

Hi. I'm trying to clone a dress that comes with Get Together and replace its original mesh and texture with my own. I want to post it on my blog & share it with people who doesn't own the EP. Is it possible? I know you may think I should just clone from a base game item but there are some complicated reasons why it has to be this specific dress. I will make sure I do not share anything from get together (like I said, original mesh and texture) with those who haven't purchased it because it seems illegal to do so.

Be careful. Current version of S4S (3.0.0.8) is very buggy and mesh explodes when you import any mesh that you did weight transfer on.
That is unless you're transferring weight to a mesh you've created from scratch. In that case it's going to work just fine.
UPDATE: It could be just that I did the weight transfer in a wrong way (the way this function is performed on 2.78 is different from 2.70, which I haven't yet been used to). I'll look more into it. I apologize for possibly providing incorrect information.

hi! There's a new s4s version. I would suggest re doing the package with this version. For me the issue is still there even with the latest release. Mesh explosion everywhere. EDIT: I was working on a jacket for young adults, did a weight transfer, than boom! UPDATE: It could be just that I did the weight transfer in a wrong way (the way this function is performed on 2.78 is different from 2.70, which I haven't yet been used to). I'll look more into it. I apologize for possibly providing incorrect information.

I'm experiencing the same problem (arms being drawn inward) when I import clothing meshes into Harmony 3.0.0.0, but when I imported the exact same mesh into Jackpot 2.7.1.3 the arms were not pinned inward at all. So, I would try importing your mesh into a previous version to see if you still experience this problem. Further testing in Harmony, I also have this problem when exporting an ea mesh, editing the UV map in blender, then importing back in and also an ea mesh that I just straight up export and then import back in ( without touching at all in blender). Yes, I just experimented with other meshes and concluded myself that this has to do with the newest version of S4S. The problem is I do not have 2.7.1.3 version. Do you have a link to it? EDIT: I didn't know they still kept older version on the website. Thank you.

Hi. I've made this dress recently but as you can see here it has a glitch. Arms are bent inward. I've heard that this happens when you make the bottom much wider than default because it messes with slot ray data or something. I've tried 1. cloning from different dress 2. Tools > modding > fix slot ray data neither of them worked. When I tried 2, it said there was nothing to fix. I want to know if there's any other way to fix it. Here's the link to the dress: www.dropbox.com/s/u5slllkqoekho95/GreenApple18r_yfAlice%2BOliviaAlexiaCenterPleatDress.package?dl=0I'm using S4S 3.0.0.0 and Blender 2.78 by the way.

I absolutely love this new feature! I've waited so long for it. Now I don't have to see random sims coming to bakery wearing $3,000 dress like it's nothing haha

We need to fix the UV map. As you know EA had an amazing idea when designing TS4 CAS parts. They made it that each item share the same texture field. It’s all about the placement inside the rectangle. Each spot is for a CAS part. As you can understand the legs and the skirt technically share the same spot. We want the legs to have their own texture which means we have tomove the skirt UV map somewhere else. Till now (April/May 2015) we can’t append an external DDS to the package to use in cases like this. The only thing we can do isto find a spot that is not used for anything and hope that none else uses it.
Will someone someday find a way to "append an external DDS to .package" then? If so, I will jump around my room in happiness like I'm crazy. I can't wait to use it for shoes.
Oh, and thank you so much for the tutorial. There were so many tips I could learn from it. I made a dress following it yesterday and I got a big confidence boost.

What a poor little ugly person to do when it textures the inside of the cap. I tried Mesh > Normals > Flip Normals but didn't work.
Edit: I flipped normals again(putting those neon-ish blue lines upside down) and though blender showed no change, I imported .blender to my .package anyway. To my surprise, in S4S grid and in-game it shows outside of the cap textured. Am I doing it right then? I feel much less ugly now.
