It should be no problem to share CC between games. Most of us here make CC to share with other people.
There are a few common reasons why CC isn't showing up in another person's game. Do any of these apply to your friend?
1. The CC requires an expansion pack your friend doesn't have. 2. The CC is recolored from another piece of CC your friend doesn't have. 3. Custom content isn't enabled in your friend's game.
It also helps to know what you mean by "it didn't work." Does it not show up in game at all? Does it show up, but the tattoo doesn't appear correctly on Sims?
We'll need more information to understand what's causing the problem. If you could answer these questions and also upload your .package file, that would help others figure out what's going on.

There may be a functionality to do this using the Master Controller mods. At the very least, you could quickly use cheat commands to copy a skin detail from one Sim to any other. The details are listed here: deaderpool-mccc.com/#/doc/mc_dresserIt's a little tedious to sort through MC's documentation, but there might be a command in there somewhere that would allow you to copy a skin detail to every Sim at once.

Wow! Thank you! Your feedback has been so thoughtful, comprehensive and easy to understand! Honestly, I've never gotten such a thorough critique of a CAS project before and it's truly amazing!
I used the base dress you suggested, plus made some tweaks based on your video, and the weights issues are all resolved. Interesting that this skirt bones issue is only appearing in the last few months. It's been about five since my last CAS project, which explains why I haven't seen this before. Glad it's not just me!
I see what you mean with the morphing on the backside area. I checked out your channel and found your video on UV_1, so I'll go in and fix it when I can. Thank you again... again!

Thank you so much for thoroughly dissecting the horrors of my mesh. Some of your vertex painting advice I haven't found anywhere else and really filled in a lot of the holes in my understanding. Really... thanks! Now... weights. Ugh. Here's what happens when I transfer weights that include the skirt bones: Thanks, again, for the help I've gotten so far. Would anyone care to tell me what I've messed up this time? Here's the blend.

Hi wonderful forum humans!
Every so often I get the insane urge to create CAS items and then get met with the reminder that I am a curse to weights and morphs.
Here's my current problem: a skirt that doesn't know how to be a skirt. It has a weird crease down the middle and the more elaborate walk-cycles cause weird splits and mini explosions.
I transferred the weights from the basegame nightgown that people often use. If I transfer weights from any other mesh, the skirt turns into a deformed horrorshow (not pictured).
Thanks for reading. Here is the blend and the package if you want to look at it with eyes that are, no doubt, more experienced than mine.

Sorry to revive a rather long-dead thread, but I just wanted to share that Simadream has brought these machines back to life and they're better than ever. Simadream is really relaxed about recolors, too, so this new/improved version could be a great starting point for you project.

Hi! It looks like a UV placement issue. Would you mind uploading your .blend and .package files?

Hi mellousim! Those cars look great! The shadows look like they might be from a bump map. It looks like you replaced the specular on these items, did you replace the bump map as well? If that's not the problem, it might help for you to upload the .package file so that people can take a closer look at it.

Hi spacella! The shine you see is the texture from the S4S model showing through the lipstick. It looks like the alpha channel on your lipstick is set up to be translucent, nearly transparent. You can try the lipstick out in game and see if it looks more how you imagined. If you put the lipstick on a Sim with shiny-lipped skin (could not think of a better way to phrase that) the lipstick will look shiny. If you put the lipstick on a Sim with matte lips, the lipstick will be matte. If you want a stronger matte look, you'll need to follow a few extra steps. 1. Change the lip part of the alpha channel from gray to white so that no skin texture shows through. 2. Instead of using a flat color, paint the lips on your texture file so that they have highlights and shading, since you'll no longer get that from the underlying skin texture. The alpha and lips were extracted from Angissi's La Girl Matte Lipstick to use as examples. In general, it can help to look at the work of an experienced CC creator to figure out how they got their desired effects.

OMG That's my recolor. :D
Thanks for the explanation, minimonster. I had always wondered why the awesome resized screen by srslysims had suddenly reverted to its original size. I'd seen an old tutorial on resizing FX and considered trying to fix it for her. I'm glad that I didn't waste a bunch of time on that before I saw this!
Sorry, undeadninjabit02. I deleted the link from my original tumblr post of those recolors when I discovered it had stopped working, but that's not helpful if you found someone's reblog of it. I've taken the download off SFS, so nobody else can download it and be disappointed. :-[

Hi Paidato!
Not sure if it will help in your case, but when I have a spike that I can't fix in a mesh, I delete all the bone groups in my new mesh and then transfer weights again. If you have weird extra bones hiding in your mesh for whatever reason, they'll be fixed by this process.

Hi! It might be easier for you to receive help if you post one thread per project. Also, it helps the people on this forum if you post the blend and package files for your projects. Sometimes you can't really diagnose a problem until you've looked at it in person! With only the pictures, I can see a couple issues. In the first picture, the weird shadows are caused by having a normal map leftover from the item you cloned. You can create a new normal map or, at the very least, use studio to make the normal map blank. The other issues in all pictures seem to be an issue with weights and/or vertex paint. You need to define which parts of the mesh go with which parts of the Sim by doing a weight transfer. If you've never done that, there's a very simple tutorial here. Hopefully that will help. Consider splitting this topic into separate threads and posting your blend/package files for better insights.

Hi everyone!
I'm working on a dress and have weird shadows along the bottom edge. Normally, I can use edge split, as explained in UN's tutorial, to get rid of them. However, when I tried to edge split, the shadows didn't go away. In fact, I think they got stronger? Thanks for looking and also for any insights you have! The content posted on this forum, in addition to the personalized help I've received, has really helped me reach new heights with CC creation. You all are amazing!

Thank you, inabadromance! I can't believe it was a simple matter of removing doubles! Sometimes you get so caught up in the details that you forget about the simple things.
