Merging helps a lot! But apart from that, I actually sort out cc from time to time :D

I checked your package and can confirm that it does not appear in the game. However, even cloning the package did not help. I'd suggest to redo the package completely. I created a new package cloned from the happy facepaint, imported your first swatch and it worked fine in the game: Link

You can use the tray importer (needs to be installed) Start your game, create a new sim and apply the broken cc (and nothing else). Save he household. Open the tray importer. The household will appear in a list on the left side. Select the household and click 'cc' to see a list of the cc that is applied to the sim. Right click on the item in the list -> 'show containing folder'

Hey hey! Simblreen is probably one of the most exciting things in the simblr community :D I joined last year (as a creator and also as someone to visit the doors) and it was a lot of fun! Will join this year too, of course, I just need to decide which blog to use for it. Just in case, have both: CC blog, Main blog

To be honest, the only thing I am excited about when it comes to the new EP is the upcoming pets CC! I just hope it won't be overly complicated to introduce new fur textures and pet eyes.

You can delete single items from merged packages (but I'm not sure if this is recommended, never tried it as remerging is quite fast anyway) On another note, always keep the individual files to be able to remerge

The red and yellow marked items will definitely break your game and you should delete them. The duplicates will slow down your game but won't break it, so delete them if you feel the need (just be careful to only delete one item as both items appear in the list). The light blue items don't cause any troubles as far as I know (and although I have 40 GB+ of cc where a lot of them are light blue, I did not have any issues yet)

You cannot unmerge merged files, but you can delete items from them (however, I'm not sure if it is recommended): Open sims4studio, go to 'my projects' and select the merged package. Now you will see a list to the left that starts with 'S 4S Merged Package Manifest'. Click that and find the line 'packages' on the right side. Click 'edit items ..' (see image below): A pop-up window will show you a list of the items inside the merged package. You can select and delete them. Hit save after you're finished and that's it.

From my experience, png is more likely to produce artifacts (coloured blocks around and within the texture, especially in half-transparent regions) but the texture appears sharper overall. That's why I stick to png and only switch to dds when the artifacts are giving me a hard time (for hair textures, I'd recommend dds only though). In general it's a good idea to keep your project as a psd file so you don't have to open and resave a dds file (that would worsen the texture quality).

From what I see, the texture already looks quite TS4-ish

Thanks for your answers! I will post my suggestion at a later stage then
Please don't get me wrong, I was just asking because a really high number of posts required would be discouraging from the start. If you don't want the number to be known I can delete the thread, of course. I do see where you are coming from

Hey hey!
I'm not a new member actually, been around for quite a while but didn't introduce myself yet. My name is Remus, I'm almost 27, molecular biologist and cc creator at thesimsresource. Without S4S, this most likely wouldn't have happened!

Thank you a lot! The latest issue was adressed in the new versions so for now there is no bug to report from my side, but it'd be nice to be able to do that again in the future.
But I actually wanted to suggest something: I noticed that in the latest versions the batch export of textures always results in them being rle2image.dds. However, when individually exported you can choose between png and dds. In earlier s4s versions, the files were exported as .rle2image which could be converted into png just by renaming (which does not work for dds to png). So I wanted to suggest to implement an option to choose a file format when using the batch export similar to how it is for the individual export.
