Last week while I was playing my family using some of Peaces's furniture it came to me that it would be cool too use one of his color palettes
on my patterns so the bedroom would look more "matchy-match", so I went with the Airy Hamptons palette on the futon from City Living.

Enjoy!

wow.. I was about to say "unbelievable".. but then again.. I can totally believe this. they're always pushing the wrong buttons here right... Yep! I bet that if this news goes viral (doubt it) they will come up with some lame excuse for it or tap dance around the real reason.

Since a lot of people here use Blender and may rely on this channel for tutorials, I thought it's worth posting that youtube is holding the oficial Blender channel hostage: the content is blocked worldwide until they turn on ads.
Let that sink in for a minute. Google is holding the content of a open source software because they want them to turn on monetization.

I found this in case someone has a version that is not adobe photoshop cc 2018 because that does not work (according to the comments), you can try and if it does not work, then I will delete this post-- sorry for my english fnordware.blogspot.com/2014/09/dds-plug-in-for-after-effects-and.htmlalthough it says after effects says that it is also good for photoshop github.com/fnordware/AdobeDDS/tree/master/srcSystem Requirements Photoshop CS6 or later, After Effects CS6 or later. Mac OS X 10.6 or later, Windows 7 or later. May work in older configurations as well, give it a try. Yeah, I did try both about a month ago (when I start to do recolors) and unfortunately didn't work. It may for some tho.

There's different ways to create to achieve the same thing in PS. I believe you followed this tuto here, right? If yes, you're probably missing a step somewhere. In your file I didn't see the color layer -where you would apply the swatch color and use the multiply or overlay. It seems you merged the RBG channels as per the tuto, but instead of creating a layer above for the color you applied on this layer? Could this be the trouble? Everything Lara did in her great tuto can be done on a new empty layer via layer panel (as I did above), without having to deal with the sometimes confusing channels. If you open the PS file I posted above you may grasp a bit better what I did. But in the end you just have to go with what feels more intuitive for you. Good luck.

Actually there are several reasons here explain that the dds you lose quality by understanding and in the .png does not depend: 0 link: sims4studio.com/thread/9953/question-when-comes-dds-pngHe also says that the game uses dds textures so I understood my english .. I used PNG before but in some things it was bad for me ... and in others it was good, and since I did not want to register converting png to dds dds to png with gimp..I decided to use plugin n.nU I hope I have been helpful ... at least in clarifying something u.u Thanks for the link, I'll sure read it.
I have a program (GC) that can convert .png to .dds and will test to see if there's a difference. Since the DDS plugin is not available for mac users (at least for PS) and not everybody can afford a little program to convert the texture, I think it would be safe to say that if you're using PS on a mac they would need to export and import in .png, otherwise the texture won't open.

well... you still need a dds plugin for photoshop...
Well, NVIDIA didn't put out the DirectDraw Surface plugin for mac users. I did look for it until I saw people using .pngs, tried myself and it works.
My question stands: is there any reason why I should avoid .pngs?

As Monas said. You simply add .dds at the end of the file name when exporting from Studio. Adding .dds to the texture does not work on my version of photoshop. It say that PS cannot open the file because it does not recognize the file type. Preview also cannot handle .dds, it say the file is damaged or cannot be recognized. Can't say if it works on Gimp tho.
When I batch export from S4S the only way I can open .dds files are via GC, and saving as .png.
After I'm done with my textures I save it as a .png, load in S4S and ingame, and so far it works on items for CAS and buymode. Is there any reason why I should be avoiding .pngs or using GC to convert my final .png to .dds before importing to S4S?

The file you posted is merged so I couldn't see what the problem is. Here's what I did: 1) created a new layer above the femaleUVmap; 2) using a soft brush i drew a "blush"; 3) using the opacity tab in the layers panel i lowered the opacity; 4) saved as a .png with transparency; 5) loaded this textured into a blush .package. It works on S4S. I did not test it ingame, so here's the file and you can take a look, see what I did and if loads okay ingame. Hope this helps!

I used to be a windows user, and I just recently made the change to mac and I am still adjusting. Is there anyway to be able to export a texture as a dds on mac instead of png? I don't see any option between png and dds while saving, and I find it much easier to just save it as a dds. Thank you. You export as a .png. If you need to open a .dds file there's a program called Graphic Converter (https://www.lemkesoft.de/en/products/graphicconverter/download/) that opens .dds and many other file types. They have a try out period too.
