I got it working! i ended up having to just uninstall s4studios AND blender completely off my computer. then first installed s4studios, then blender 2.78, and I dragged the blender.app into the applications folder.
Hopefully this helps ^_^

yes HERE is my updated blend file. Well, I believe one of the frustrations is because i cant run blender 2.70 on my imac. maybe because its not compatible with the newest apple OS. In tutorials such as brujah's the ui is a lil different. I begin in object mode, hold down shift, then click on the mesh i want to copy weights FROM first then i select mine. with both selected I switch to weight paint. and then THIS is options in the side panel when i click on transfer weights only one is transferred. HERES a screenshot of the mesh im copying FROM, with all the weights in the box. & HERE Is what happens after i click on 'Transfer Weights'. only one gets transferred... Hopefully i explained clearly >,<

okay i started over completely and only imported the mesh and texture. Tried in CAS and its looking almost there!(: I guess what messed it up was me trying to get rid of the spec and shadow etc. Is there a tutorial that goes over how to make a blank file? And im not sure where i went wrong with the weights, I transferred the weights from the long chef shirt. Should I delete all of the vertex groups and start over? or is it an easy fix? Thank you so much for your help, i am SO close to being done after weeks of learning. you have no idea how grateful I am!<3

okay i tried fixing it, and its still having issues ): It looks like this now in CAS my .package file is here. i tried going back and redoing the weights (although i may have totally butchered it because im still learning) & its on a base game mesh so im not sure why it disappeared this time around hopefully its not completely ruined >,<

Omgosh! I FINALLY got it ^__^ I put waaaay more thought into it then needed. Idk how acceptable this fix was, but it worked for me. For anyone else stumped at this same thing....your UV map does not need to stretch across the entire torso. I scaled mine down quite a bit. Hopefully im making sense (: This is my final UV_0 map Thank you both again for the pointers, i am extremely grateful!!<3 & now to figure out the UV_1. But hopefully its not to hard >,<

Yes i know its to long >,< im just trying to make sure each edge is straight (or at least straighter then they are). so its a bit stretched out just so i can see the lines.
Thanks for the tips about the sleeves!(:

okay ive been working on this thing for a few days now....i separated the meshes, so im only UV Mapping the actual top now. I have also removed the middle seam, does this look better? I have started moving each vertex one by one to where i believe it belongs. But before i go on I want to be sure im on the right path.

I tried looking for an answer to my question but have not found any, and I've looked over untraditionalnerd's posts regarding the UV mapping and im still unclear. I have finished the mesh for a top, and attempted to mark the seams....but im lost now. Basically am i on the right path? here are screenshots of the seams i have marked: and heres the unwrapped mesh: The first thing i am confused about is the arms/hands. Do i need to mark seams around them? Or can i completely delete them from my mesh? I understand that i will have to move each individual island to its proper place, but how exactly do transform the parts to be the correct shape? And do i HAVE to map it to exactly each part? Or can i scale the islands down and fit them to the corresponding sections on this CASpart UV Template. I have always done recoloring projects to a map like this. Sorry if this is a stupid question >,< I hope im making sense. Any help will be so greatly appreciated!!
