Hi pixellarious, I've taken a look at the files you sent, and the reason you cannot open them is because they are being cloned with no information in the name and description fields. I've only seen this kind of problem once before. In that case, the person who had the problem had to reinstall her game files. Studio fills in that information from the game files. If it isn't showing up, this suggests there is something wrong with your game files. Please try first repairing your game using Origin's repair game feature to see if this will fix the issue.

If repairing didn't work the next course of action seem to be reinstalling the game. I would advise to uninstall the game AND S4S, then reinstall the game, then S4S and try again.
PS: You absolutely don't have to do this but I am curious to know if the issue happens as well if you try it from another user on your computer. You can temporarily create a new user on your computer by going to system preferences then: Users and groups. Unlock the padlock at the bottom by clicking on it and giving your admin password and click the "+" just above the padlock and create a second user. You can delete the user account later in this same menu with the "-" icon when back on your normal user session. Logout from your session to login on the new user and test if you have the same issue on this user session. That will allow us to know if the issue is user specific or system wide.

I reinstalled my game and S4S in my main account and created another user account where I had to reinstall the game and same thing happens. The Log and the S4S > Contents > MacOS > S4Studio are the same, but there's nothing in the Console > Devices or Console > User Reports in my main account and the second user account.

Hi pixellarious, when you say the same thing happens do you mean you are still unable to open a package that you made before or that a newly cloned package (cloned since you reinstalled the game) also causes the error? The old ones you cloned before will still cause the error. Hopefully, a new clone will not.

It makes no sense that you had to reinstall the game on the other account. It's not possible. The applications are installed system wide and not for the user only. You only had to login in your origin account. I am not sure what you did in the end here. If we assume you did it right then it is a system wide issue. So normally the reinstallation of the fault program is the solution to most of these issues. If not the Operating system needs to be reinstalled.
Did you properly uninstall the game before re-installing it? By this I mean, did you uninstall the game through Origin? as there is an uninstall button in the game menu (where the repair is). (you need to save your Sims4 folder in documents before I believe) If yes, you might want to uninstall the game then uninstall origin as well and studio. Then : Origin -> TS4 -> S4S

orangemittens : I tried to recolour a new object after I reinstalled the game and it still caused the error. Zelrish : I did it again, with a new second user account, and you're right I didn't have to reinstall the game, only login in Origin. I'm sorry I got confused in the previous post ! And yes, I did uninstall the game through Origin (I deleted the whole Sims 4 documents as I wasn't really found of my saves so I didn't mind loosing it all). I uninstalled S4S using AppCleaner. I just noticed that my game icon is placed in Macintosh HD > Applications while SimsCity is installed in MacintoshHD > Users > myusername > Applications. Could this be the problem ? I'll uninstalled Origin as well and reinstall everything and get back to you in a few minutes !

On my computer, TS4 is directly installed in Mac HD/Applications as well as Origin. I don't have an application folder in my home folder. You can always double check that your path is correct in the preferences from S4S after you reinstalled everything. Hopefully it works out

Sorry it took longer than expected! So I uninstalled and reinstalled everything (I even turned off my fire-wall through the whole process because it wouldn't let me install Origin otherwise) and it is still happening. I tried a few different objects and it crashes but it the cas part is still working perfectly fine as well as cc recolouring !
PS : I checked S4S preferences and the path is correct. Plus, I think CAS recolour wouldn't work if it wasn't ?

The issue you're having is two-fold. The first is a bug that is easy to fix on the Studio side, and it will be fixed. This bug is that Candy Apple will crash if it encounters an object.package that has no text in the name or description field. The next version of Candy will be able to successfully work with items that have no name or description.
The second issue you're having is that for some reason, Studio is not able to find object names and descriptions in your game files when it is cloning them. This causes you to end up with an object.package that has no text in the name and description fields. This triggers the bug I described above, and Studio crashes. As CAS items don't have these fields, you do not run into the first problem because this issue with names and descriptions doesn't arise.
The second issue is not being caused by a bug with Candy Apple so we cannot fix it from this side. It's a problem with your game files or your system. One person before you had this problem. That person was able to solve the issue by reinstalling the game through Origin. I don't know of any other way to deal with the issue because it isn't on Studio's side. All I can tell you is that if you aren't able to solve this problem with your game files and or system, when the new version of Candy comes out, you will be able to open object.packages with empty text fields. You will then be able to make your own projects with these clones, but you will have to fill in whatever text you want yourself. I wish I had a better answer for you, but without being on your computer myself, it's very difficult to know why Studio is being blocked from successfully finding this text information.

I don't know that much about computers to be honest, so I don't really know how / what game files I could try and fix and I don't know how I can tell what is wrong with the system if that's what's causing the problem. I bought it a year ago and appart from this little S4S crash it's working just fine. I don't mind waiting for the next Candy Apple update and fill in the text myself, seems a lot easier than reinstalling the whole computer system ! Thank you for taking the time to try and help me ! :D

Hello everyone, I am new to S4S and really looking forward to learning to create skin overlays.
However, currently I have a problem with the S4S... it cannot identify my blender and my cc folder although I made sure all the paths are pointing correctly and i've downloaded blender 2.78c. I've downloaded Candy Apple 1.2.1.0 and my MAC is on OS Sierra.
