I am reasonably competent at making/converting cc, although much has changed since I was last using S4S regularly. I read your tutorial on using the geo-state feature and it seems that there shouldn't be any real difference in making cc other than it's a more laborious process for those objects. I have managed to override a couple of outdoor bins with no problem but other objects are causing me some trouble. I think, without checking them all again, anything with more than transformBone. Doing it the way I would normally approach things makes the game crash if I get that far and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I say get that far because I tried to make a laundry tub but couldn't get the water plane changes to show in S4S 3.1.1.5 (Wishes) after editing. I gave up at this point partly because a day or two before the geo-state update I had made the same one and it's not that annoying to not have it. Other objects like the mailbox (see here sims4studio.com/thread/13025/failing-functional-mailboxes-help ) and my latest project, the science table for kids, result in the game crashing as soon as I get to the appropriate part of the catalogue. I can link to the science table package if anyone is able to help. Thanks

Hi motherof70, yes, with Studio's new geostates feature working with geostate items involves mesh swaps like any other object requires with the only added difficulty being the number of swaps that need to be performed. I tested the kid's science table after reading your post, and I think it has some element that Studio isn't yet ready to handle. This is causing items cloned from it to crash the game. While testing that, I also ran into an issue with a change I made to one of the mesh groups not showing in the model viewer like the one you are describing with the laundry tub. These issues will be investigated

Thank you so much, you've no idea how relieved I am to read your reply and thanks for answering so quickly. I was so worried I was missing something really obvious. I'll leave those more complicated objects alone for the time being. Thanks again

Oh, Well I just wanted to chime in (not that it helps), I too am having this problem, where the game crashes when I get to the appropriate part of the catalog in the game.
I was thinking it had to do with the mesh itself because if you have a catalog icon rather than letting the game auto generate the preview, the game wont crash until you click on the item and try to place it.

Hi! I was so excited about the geostate feature because it means I can finally edit the City Living food stalls. So far, meshing has worked fine but when I open the game, all my custom stalls revert to produce stalls. I would like to reskin the stalls that serve Vietnamese, American, etc. Not sure if this is related to the feature or not, though without the feature I certainly wouldn't have been able to get this far. :D

I'm having trouble with the clothesline geostates. I'm trying to create an indoor clothesline without the poles (meant to be placed between walls to look like the lines are hanging from the walls) and I was able to create the mesh for the 3 geostates (empty, full and broken) and I successfully imported the empty mesh, but the problem is that it also affects the other geostates (the full one imports the empty mesh and the broken one disappears) and I cannot import the full and broken meshes (they do not change when I import them).

My experience when something doesn't show up in S4S (mesh-wise), its usually the cut numbers that aren't correct or completly empty, have you double checked this?

Hi! First time trying the geostate feature and having problems. I cloned the Pandora Toybox for a custom mesh, with the difference between the 2 geostates being a single pane with a toy texture on it for full, and no plane for empty. When i try to import my meshes, S4S is setting the empty state mesh as both empty and full, and I cannot import a unique mesh into the full geostate. A change is meshes is only visible when I import into the empty geostate as well so I am unable to take advantage of this feature.

Hello! I tried to make a new Microwave. Editing the states works, but when i get in game the microwave is on the "ON" state. Once the microwave is used, the OFF state is then show at the appropriate time and everything works as expected. But when u go out of the lot or literally just replace the microwave, the issue comes back. Idk what to do, i'm desperately trying to make this work :c

Is it possible to add geostates to objects that don't have them to begin with? I realise I'm probably being overly ambitious here but it would be nice to default replace the Parenthood laundry hamper with one that functions like the Laundry Day ones.

Hi all, the latest version of Studio should address many of the issues reported here. In particular, the science table, toy box, microwave, laundry tub, and clothesline should now be editable. Hopefully, the fix for those will work for all the snowflakes. Please let us know if you run into issues with other items. menaceman44, yes, you can add geostates in the Warehouse. The ones added there will be recognized on the Studio tab after you re-open the .package (sorry for the late reply).

I just want to find out before I go to the trouble to make a new mesh: is it possible to clone the baby crib seeing that we can now work with geo-states?

I just wanted to note that although you can add new geostates to an object I haven't been able to get them to function properly. When you load the object in game all of the added geostates show up together and they don't abide by any tuning that references them.
