I completely agree with you on your points. That being said, Pandora's box has sort of already been opened long before I arrived onto this website and pretty much all the places where people can post have been flooded with questions about X, Y and Z. While there is a place to ask for help with your project, there isn't a place to ask about the sims in general, this website, problems with S4S itself and everything in between. That's why those questions get shepherded to other forums. That being said, that's exactly what I'm trying to counterbalance with this thread! But also just because I really want to see more interactions between all the amazing creators on the forums! That's okay. If a forum has been open for a while and its admins/mods all have "normal people stuff" to do then it's going to get a bit messy. I'll think of another thread to pop up in General to try and break the circle a little, maybe a game of some kind? That'd be cool. Aawh, Makin' Magic was incredible! My cousin found a cracked version online when I was a kid and gave it to me on CD (when it was still possible to copy huge files like that onto CDs). If I had a legal copy I'd send it to you! I think I still have a few of the original games, but I'm not entirely certain which and/or if they're boxed or not. Still, if EA re-released Makin' Magic for TS4 or developed something similar I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Kev is such a hilarious guy. I'd say that his Skyrim VR/Mods, VRChat and the Catholic FPS (the one where your sword shoots lasers and stuff, somehow) videos are my all-time favourites. Definitely Chaotic Neutral! As for your latest prompt, I love playing The Sims in bursts, usually because something has come up that needs more attention. The gaps between periods of play varies, but if it's been a considerable amount of time I occasionally wipe the slate clean - that includes families, CC and whatever else - and start over from scratch. Lately I've been looking more into using Blender and ZBrush for work and figured that developing CC for TS4 might be a good way to start, so I'll probably end up using it to playtest a lot of things I've made if I get into it enough. Here's hoping. (⁀▽⁀)

There used to challenges on this site but they stopped doing those before I got here. Maybe like mini challenges or something could be a great way to engage the community! With how money-hungry EA is, I'm honestly surprised they don't just polish up Sims 1 and 2 and then just sell them because all of us fans would eat that right up (I know I would)! For Sims 4, I know they're supposed to be making witches because that won a community poll put on by the sims team awhile back. Still waiting on that... I know you said you're working on learning to use Blender (which I only touch if I have to lol). What kinds of things are you hoping to make? You don't gotta tell if you want to keep it surprise.

I'm actually in the middle of chatting with an artist by the name of Luke Dixon to see if he'll allow me to make some CC using his artworks, fully credited of course. He's a super friendly bloke and has zero clue about TS4 or The Sims in general, so I've been explaining the process and developing a piece of test CC to show him. Seems as though he's up for it, though. Here's a wee preview! In the meantime, I'll have a think about some ways that we can invoke a little more community spirit. It's good to see that some folks are absolutely into rekindling a bit of passion in the forums rather than seeing it become a big ol' helpdesk. Sharing ideas and work is where it's at when you're trying to be creative!

I'm actually working on a very similar project where I'm converting some artwork into objects in the game. It'd only be fair to share with you a preview as well.I'd love to get some community spirit sparking! Whatever you think of, as long as it's within reason, I'd love to help out!

Just got around to finishing up the tapestries with a thumbs-up from Luke himself, which is awesome! Super stoked that he's happy to allow us to use his work.
I'm going to hopefully be including some of my own once I get it drawn out. I've been practising a long with pen and ink recently so it'd be awesome to get some things made in real life and as CC for folks to enjoy.

Psst. Here's a WIP/sketch for some stuff that might end up becoming CC. I found a multi-windowed photo frame at work and figured it could look good in game as well. Just need to un-funk the shading, figure out what other flowers are going in the rest of the windows, and in which window they're going to go. Then I might throw the original on Etsy and see what happens. (。• ᵕ •。)

I think it's time for another prompt! As always, prompts are meant to just stimulate conversation, but, by all means, you can post anything you want in here (like Pint-Sized Punker as long as it's not posting something that would be more appropriately posted elsewhere! Inspired by Island Living coming out (which I have yet to get), here's the prompt: If you could go anywhere in the world for a vacation, where would you go and why? It can be someplace you've visited before and, for fun, possibly someplace that doesn't exist at all. For me, all I really want is to visit lots of cemeteries around the world. At the top of my list are the Sedlec Ossuary and the Capuchin Crypt. Besides that, I would love to see some cemeteries in New Orleans and visit Salem. Also, also La Isla de la Muñecas in Mexico. Yep, these are the places I would gladly spend my free time. I've also always wanted to visit the Notre Dame but ugh... yeah. That being said, I should also visit Venice before it sinks into the earth...

My bad for asking about vacations, forgetting that everyone here would much prefer to stay indoors all day playing sims than going outside. It's all good though, as always, you can answer any prompt anytime or even just drop in to say hi and talk about how your day is going. Or you can just complain about the new re-branding of the sims. Anyway, let's try a new prompt: What other games do you enjoy besides the Sims? This also includes mobile games or table top games if you want to mention them. The reason I wanted to ask this prompt (despite being eerily similar to ANOTHER PROMPT) is because sims players are generally stereotyped as not liking anything action-packed or difficult; that sims players only like simple games. For me, that stereotype is kind of true? It's not so much the "easy" part, but I definitely have a theme for the games I like to play. I've enjoyed games like Minecraft and I really like playing doll makers from time to time. I also go on mmorpg (like Runescape and Mabinogi) sprees. I guess I just really like any game that lets me mold the characters and their story to my bidding, whether it's because of the vicarious playing or because I just like making stories. Oh, and the Assassin Creed games are cool, too. I like those ones because I'm a history nerd and the last two, Origins and Odyssey, were really well done. As for table top, I've played a few games of DnD, but it's not really a regular thing. And all my mobile games are just random mindless games like Subway Surfer and Piano Tiles. And in case anyone wanted my opinion, the new re-branding is awful and they should've never tried fixing something that wasn't broken.

Hello !! hehe sorry I had not read the other question oops anyway Well I also enjoy the sims games of fashion and beauty (which is a bit strange because I in real life go to the natural always muajaja) maybe it can be because of my laziness ?? and kitchen (also to look for things like 100 doors !!) but it is true that since I play the sims it's like I get more that of going to stores to see clothes or it must be the age (wait ... that was not the question !!) on my phone from before I always played bejeweled blitz (just like on facebook) and once I tried the pc and I loved it was so different but on the phone I had to stop playing because of space problems but I never got bored (I am a Very routine person) and I rarely get bored (not to say never) but the bad thing about mobile games is that it is more difficult to hold the battery if you do not have a high or medium range and it also gets very hot (at least my opinion) on the pc as I said I played mostly facebook games (I stopped playing and someday I will resume xD) and some other game of pastry for PC (which as I could not afford to buy it ... nee nee ) and online games as one of shopping addicts was so much fun !! I never liked that game of action, blood ... fights because I am very bad, I do not understand much and when I played a sailor moon rpg I went wrong and never understood how to pass it ... in itself the games that I could try and have fun were more than anything very simple (well the strategy like 100 doors made me think and it was difficult on a phone hehe) On facebook I could try before playing the sims game on pc thesimssocial (because at that time I dreamed about the sims and my mom did not buy it ... xD) so try that and I had a lot of fun also play simcity social and also love it: 3 and other farmville, cityville, yoville, chefville ... and the defendant for electronic arts The ville (I did not like that they removed it but I understand because I suppose ...) Play several board games (you mean on the pc or in real life ??) in real life: like the monopoly, the billiards, the jumanji, the 8 steps of the program that, the little fish when it was smaller, cards The ludomatic that one day I throw it against the wall ... because my mom had won me :D on the computer I really think that I played one that was the ludomatic version pc (?) I think I do not remember it was online too but I do not know if I wrote too much xD And about the new design, I hate a lot the blue color in the letters less bad that with a mod you can already put the letters turquoise not so strong the loading screen is still hurting my eyes (I know some change like it ...) but I liked the plumbob as srasimmer the simmer i did not like the change of tones the blue icons although some say it is more orderly .. (and that I do not build) I also play I think that in 2018 piano tiles and it was so funny but there came a moment where so much publicity did not like me and I desistale to part again the space of my old phone. and since we talk about other games that are not sims because also in real life I play magic tricks when I was little and also try to rearm the cube of rubik but it did not work and I remember that I got so furious that I ended up breaking it throwing it against the wall and my mom told me I was crazy ...

.... phew... where to start.... well, to begin with, I'm in my 60s, a retired pensioner. My profession/career was programmer/technical architect mainly doing business software, and (latterly) web design and website applications. However I started back in the early 80s being involved with producing music and sound effects for the 8/16 bit home computer games (c64, amiga, atari ST etc) so my gaming proclivities have been somewhat varied. Nowadays, as well as playing Sims 4 almost exclusively, I'm also a huge Warcraft nut, and I love desktop simulator games in the Sid Meier vein as well as most of the 'Tycoon' series. As regards the new branding, to be perfectly honest it changes nothing for me; in my opinion it's neither better nor worse than it was before so I can take it or leave it

Hey! No worries about not answering the other question. As I said, you can answer them anytime (or not answer them at all, if you want)! You've played a lot of interesting games. I also have enjoyed playing Bejeweled and Piano Tiles in my spare time. I also loved playing the Sims Social on facebook during times when I wasn't able to play the actual sims. Too bad they took it down... Also, I think it's really cool that you used to do magic tricks. I've never really tried doing that, except learning one or two card tricks from my brother (he really likes card tricks). I also have never tried learning how to solve a Rubik cube, even though I know there is a way to figure them out! but I do not know if I wrote too much xD And about the new design, I hate a lot the blue color in the letters less bad that with a mod you can already put the letters turquoise not so strong the loading screen is still hurting my eyes (I know some change like it ...) but I liked the plumbob as srasimmer the simmer i did not like the change of tones the blue icons although some say it is more orderly .. (and that I do not build) I've seen a couple of mods slowly fixing the new design of the loading screen and main menu. I personally miss the different colored expansion packs and downloaded a mod to put them back in the game. As for the loading screen, I've gotten used to it by now. I might download a mod to make the colors less blinding, but we'll see. As always, thank you so much for replying to my thread! It means a lot that you take the time out of your day to help keep this "chatroom" active!

I'm glad you mentioned the "Tycoon" games because I love them and I can't believe I forgot to mention them in my prompt post. As regards the new branding, to be perfectly honest it changes nothing for me; in my opinion it's neither better nor worse than it was before so I can take it or leave it Yeah, as time has gone by, I've gotten used to the new style. I still think it was an unnecessary change, but I do think it's not as bad as I initially thought. Thank you for replying to my thread! Feel free to leave a reply whenever you want!

Like I said, there's no such thing as being late! The prompts are just here to stimulate conversation (though, we're quite overdue for a new prompt). Thank you for answering even though it's been awhile since I posted a prompt! Also, your hobby sounds really impressive! I don't know that much about cycling, but good for you for having so much enthusiasm and commitment! To answer the question properly I would add another game I have played a lot last couple of years: Euro Truck Simulator 2 . That's definitely an interesting game. I don't think I personally play that many other types of simulation games beyond the Sims, but it's interesting that you do! Are you just naturally drawn to all kinds of simulation games, or do you have certain things you look for in a game? Just curious. Anyway, good to be back here again. Updated the game as well as S4S and looking forward to start some new projects soon. Happy playing and modding - and all the best from cold and dark Finland Well, it's great to have you back! Glad you got everything all updated and I can't wait to see the things you create in the future! Happy simming from the brisk autumn of Upstate New York!
