Hi! I finally got a newer Mac that can run this program, so I'm trying to figure it out. My first goal was to try to recolor one of the beds in game. I got the S4S installed just fine and I can open CC in it, but I'm having trouble opening in game items. I hit "standalone recolor" and then "object" and then when it pulls up the pop up screen where the objects should be, its blank. How do I get it to find my game or the objects?
I've done a batch fix just fine- don't know if that info helps.
Thanks so much!
EDIT: It appears to be a game path problem, but I'm not sure how to fix it. Right now it goes (My name)-Documents-Electronic Arts-The Sims 4. This is where my game has always been.

You need to set it to where the game is INSTALLED, not where the documents folders are. I know you are on a Mac but on PC it is under Program Files (x86)/ Origin Games/ Sims 4.

Ok, thanks for the reply, but I'm not seeing anything like that. :( I can find Origin under the applications folder, same with the sims 4. So right now, S4S is showing the following paths: The Sims 4: Mac HD-Applications-Sims 4.app Sims 4 Documents- (My name)- Documents- EA- The sims 4 Blender Path: Mac HD- Applications- Blender
Which one do I need to change? Thanks again!

It's the first one that needs changing I believe. If the files are structured the same way on Mac as they are on PC (I don't know) then you need to select the Sims 4 folder, not the actual app. If this doesn't help then I'll try tagging someone here who should know.

So all I see is the documents folder (which contains mods, etc) and the app.

That worked inabadromance! Thanks so much! Now, I'm trying to do this: sims4studio.com/thread/318/recolor-object-sims-4-studio?page=1I picked the bed I want to recolor but it takes me to a different screen than the one it shows- my computer shows a big table with a lot of country flags and things like "string table", "DST Image", "object definition" and "object catalogue". I can select those and then choose from buttons add, duplicate, delete, batch export, batch import, import, export, and save. Which do I pick? Thanks so much!!!!

That screen you're seeing is the Warehouse tab. Check in the upper left of the screen to see if there is a tab labelled Studio. If there is then click on that and you should get the screen you were expecting. I'm not sure if the Studio tab isn't there though. That usually means Studio hasn't got all of the resources for the package to have anything to display in the 3D viewer.

So, I don't see anything that says "studio". Does resources mean that another "path" needs to be changed? Thanks so much for your help menaceman44!

alianne13, the only time that S4S should only show the Warehouse without the Studio tab on a package that has enough resources to form the Studio tab, is when Studio thinks that the package is a part of your game. Since earlier in this thread, you had problems with Studio finding your game path, I think that this is probably what is happening. Can you post the full path (excluding your name if it is part of it) that you gave Studio for your game path, as well as the full path to the .package that you are trying to edit? We have had a case where someone had their game installed in a non-standard location and saved their packages in a similar location, causing Studio to think that they were editing files in their game installation folder. In that case, the paths were something like this: Game Path D:\Games\Sims 4\ Package Path D:\Games\Sims 4 Mods\somepackage.package

Hi Andrew, thanks for your help! I don't know how to get the pop-up back with the three different paths for the three different things, but here are what I believe are my paths.
Sims 4 (game): Mac HD- Applications- Sims 4.app (sims 4 logo) Sims 4 Documents- (My name)- Documents- EA- The sims 4 (folder) Blender Path: Mac HD- Applications- Blender
I thought that this worked, as it did pull up the screen with all the items from in game that I could choose from, and I was able to choose the bed I want to re-color, but then it takes me to the Warehouse tab.
EDIT: I AM trying to edit an in-game bed, but I thought that this was how you did it? I've been trying to follow the tutorial.

alianne13 after you select the bed, Studio will ask you where to save the .package file. Can you tell me where you saved the .package file to? And can you try saving it to your desktop and see if it will let you edit it on the Studio tab then?

Hey! Sorry I had an unexpectedly busy week. andrew, that worked! It was originally saving it to a folder called EP05 (since the bed I am editing is a seasons bed, I guess it was saving it to Seasons?) Saving it to the desktop fixed it, I can now edit! Thanks so much everyone!

Is there an easy way to recolor? Other than using the paint brush to slowly go over each section? I want to make it look good, with shadows and the normal wood texture, just change the color.
