I've begun to dip my toes into creating custom content for the Sims 4. I know basics of using Photoshop, but can only minorly produce the effect I'm looking for. I'm not trying to create "realistic" eyes in Photoshop as I very much like the Maxis standard eyes. I just need a few tips on how to efficiently edit the eyes to their desired look. Besides the colors that come with the game I wanted to add gradient colors and unnatural colors to the mix.
Any advice? Tips?

Hi padawanxoli. I don't make eyes, but I can tell you what I do with my object textures that might help. If I want to make multiple colors of a texture, I do the following: Make a medium-grey base by selecting Image - Adjustments - Black and White Then Image - Adjustments - Hue/Saturation - adjust Lightness until I get the right tone Next, I make a new layer and fill it with my desired color. Then change the layer blending mode to "Overlay." From there, you can adjust your color saturation until it looks the way you want it. I'm actually going to write a mini-tutorial on how to do this in the next few days. For gradient eyes, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by that. Here is some info from adobe on using gradient fill - helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/gradients.html

kitkat - What I mean about gradient eyes, are eyes that transition between two colors (ie. green to blue or red to green). Me fiddling around with the blending modes is what inspired me to create a fruit themed eye bundle. I'll use you tutorial when I get a chance and report back. Thank y'all both for the links. I'll take a look at them when I get the chance. I'll post back if I still have questions.

Get your two colors you want to use and right click on the bucket fill to get the gradient tool Example: Drag a line in and any direction you want through your two colors If you click the arrow thing up the top you get different affects edit - didnt see kitkat's link oops)

Okay, I've moved onto hair and want to know how you go about coloring just a section of hair. I want to color the bangs of an ea hair but leave the rest it's default color.
