Hello. First Thank you for helping me in the creation of the corner desk. Its a a succes =) Now I have this litlle problem.
I finished a small oven to replace the huge Cupcake factory, and people like it. But they said me if i make it usable for kids and because kids dont have cook and bakery skill I will replace with creativity skills. If its possible? Do i need to make scripts for that? Because in the cupcake machine tuning no appear options for that. I use blender, photoshop, and dreamwweaver for editing xml. How do i put the script in the game? Im not an expert in scripts. It would be difficult? Thanks in advance.
I have attached a file for testing the oven.

you would most definitely have to make a new script.

Hi necrodog, This is possible but is a little involved. You would need to start off similarly to this tutorial: sims4studio.com/thread/1585/make-object-sims-inventoryBut instead of the gnome, you would obtain the cupcake maker's tuning and rename it, and link it to your object definitions. From there you would need to find the super affordance for StartCrafting: You would need to extract that tuning and again rename it. Copy its new tuning id and add it to the super affordance list. In your new interaction, you would need to change the test globals so that it is usable by kids: Use find/replace to replace: 16705<!--statistic_Skill_AdultMajor_HomestyleCooking-->with: 16718<!--statistic_Skill_Child_Creativity-->This will only affect the recipe dialog, it will have to be done for each recipe that you convert for kids. In this same StartCrafting xml, you will find the recipe list. Again you would need to extract, rename and update the numbers for each of the recipes that you want kids to use. In each recipe, again find and replace the cooking skill with the child creativity one. You will also need to extract the interactions for the stages of making a cupcake: These interactions would all need to have children enabled in their test globals too. I tried these steps as an override (to test that it works) and it did: The animations are a little off, but the child is able to use it and gain creativity skills

Hello. Thanks andrew for your help but I ran into problems for the cupcake machine. I put the problem on the other thread. But I found some interesting information for here. I was doing my cupcakemachine portable, and test if some other items were portable too using this tutorial and found a little issue. Becuase this tut uses the tune of the cooler this are helpul for objects that contains no decor or chair slots like the cupmachine, the piano, etc, but for items that have deco slots, the sims wave with a face of Oh no I cant put that into my inventory. To solve that I found a tune from a generic table that has some inventory tune similar to the cooler. Its named: object_tableGeneric_Inventory and only need to replace this lines instead the other lines from the cooler of your tut in the components section. And now sims can put tables, desk and end tables to their inventory. Hope this info was helpful

Hello. Thanks very much andrew this is so helpuf. But I ran into a problem. I can make the child use the make cupcakes action, show the recipes but when kids start going to the cupmachine to start the action is cancelled, like the kids dont want to use the cupmachine. What do I do wrong???? I used The garden friend sculpture as a clone and tuned to the cupmachine because Esmeralda said me on another testing thread that my oven dissapears from the distance in low settings. I fixed that with the sculpt, but cant get the kids to use it. Here its my file. Please tell me what do I did wrong =( www.mediafire.com/download/56q9658be3sl975/necrodog-small_cupcake-oven-clone-usableforkids.rar

Hi necro, nice to see you here (but not nice that you're still struggling with this machine!)
Unfortunately I know very little about editing tuning but I'm wondering if, since Andrew was able to get an edited tuning for children to work quite well with the default machine, you should re-clone yours from the default machine again and see if you can reproduce what he did? Maybe it's because you've cloned yours from a deco object, that it's not cooperating. I still can't understand why your original one that you cloned from the default machine disappeared when zoomed out, because my cupcake maker cloned from the default one doesn't do that. I cloned mine using the Love version of Studio, and you used the Joy version - maybe try again with the Love version and see if it doesn't disappear. If it doesn't, then maybe it's a bug in Joy that needs reporting.
I tried your new version in-game and I see that after clicking the object's menu to direct the child to use it, the action doesn't show up in the child's queue and they carry on with whatever they were doing. Another problem has crept in now too, where when clicking on the object to direct an adult to use it, there are now two 'Cook Cupcakes' options appearing in the pie menu instead of one. My instinct is that it would be best to start from scratch using a clone of the default machine and try to get your new script for children to work with that first, before doing more fancy stuff such as new meshes, removing default FX, making it portable, etc.

I think that you will need to also extract/rename the recipe phase tunings to link them to the interaction tunings that you enabled for children: You can reuse the same phases for all recipes, just make sure to link them up to the interactions that you modified instead of the original EA ones. Also in cupcakeFactory_MakeRecipe_Staging_Basic, it does not have a list of age groups specified (as the original doesn't). I had that same interaction not queuing problem with the override test until I added an age group there with Child on it. Maybe by default with no list it only works for teens and above. I'd replace that empty age group with a full list from one of the other interaction tunings.

I tried making the changes to the one that you uploaded just to be sure that it would work, and it did somewhat... The animations will need to be changed for the child version of the interaction (the child stretches to adult height). www.dropbox.com/s/is8pdsowsegi7vx/necrodog-small%20cupcake-oven-clone-usableforkids.package?dl=1The things that needed to be fixed were: 1. Cloning the recipe phases 2. Linking the recipe phases to the interactions in the package instead of the EA ones. 3. Update all recipes to use the cloned phases instead of the EA ones 4. Update the staging interaction to be usable for kids (this is what made the interaction not queue up) 5. Make all of the child ones only usable for children so that adults don't get 2 options 6. Replaced cooking skill with creativity in some of the tuning files where it was not yet done. Let me know if you have any questions

Thanks andrew. I saw my mistakes. I will work in the animations for the cupcake machine, but there is only for adults, I dont see child animations Do I need to replace another animation and tune in Joy?? Also the animations are overrides at this moment. Do that will affect the adult sims?? Here its a list of the cupcakemachine animations. I didnt saw a child animation. Do I need to tune something????

I don't think that we can get custom animations that aren't default overrides yet, but we could probably reference existing EA ones with XML.

Hey necrodog, I'm sorry to get back to you so late. I am still looking at this. I think that it will involve making clones of the animation tuning and the ASM xml files that they reference. I did it once in a test but I will need to look at it more for this.

Thanks andrew and dont worry. Take your time. You did a huge work updating Sims 4 studio today. Have a good night. (Here in Mexico) Meanwhile I will try to do the recipes of the baking skill and change to creative skill.
