Hello! I'm not sure what needs a batch fix but I was wondering if we could get an update on how the batch fix for doors and windows is coming along? I know you guys are working very hard on getting it out for us and really appreciate it and have just been curious as to how the process is going and possibly when we can expect that to be completed?

I know you guys are working very hard on getting it out for us and really appreciate it and have just been curious as to how the process is going and possibly when we can expect that to be completed? Read thisThank you! Sorry for asking I guess, I'm just new to the site and there are just a lot of threads to go through making it hard to find exactly what I'm looking for especially as I don't have a lot of time to endlessly scroll through people's posts on here and I had no idea we could still play with our sims despite the doors and whatnot not working so I've been without the whole game for a while and was just curious especially since I thought that my game was completely unplayable (I have recently redone all of the worlds mostly using cc so I was worried my entire game was broken ). I understand that Andrew has a life which is why I was just looking for an estimate as to how everything was going for him without having to check the studio's news every day and I also didn't know how often the question had been asked so my apologies. Does Andrew have a Patreon or anything that we can use to send him donations for doing so much work?

To the guys and gals working hard on a fix for this, take your time, do good work, and above all else, take time to relax and keep your sanity. I know coding can make your eyes and brain go buggy, so just don't. It's a game, and not real life, and IT IS PLAYABLE PEOPLE!
Thank you to the team doing the work, and I know I for one will wait for the fix to be done when it is done. 2020, 2021, whatever.

It's astonishing how people continue to send links even though Andrew said he has enough. The rude demanding of a release date as if we are paying Andrew to fix things is a real indication how humanity has fallen. The feeling of entitlement and selfishness of some people in the world is sickening. Why don't you all go and complain to EA and threaten to boycott their game if they don't come up with a fix or share the code to fix this with CC and Mod creators? If you would all do that instead, we would be back playing right now. Actually, there's not really any point to bothering EA either. They do not -- and cannot feasibly, for a variety of reasons; I could name a few if anyone's genuinely curious -- provide actual support for custom content beyond explicitly allowing and encouraging it instead of forbidding it, and they don't need to give us any code to update CC with because we already know how to update it. In fact, the "how" is the main reason why the batchfix isn't out yet. The old wall cutout system for windows and doors just used an image of the cutout shape. The new system uses a set of coordinates to tell the game how to draw the shape. (This, I assume, facilitates letting people put more than one window on the same wall segment, since that's the related feature that was included in the patch. Not my area of expertise.) That's not so hard to automate for a rectangle, but it's a lot more complicated to automate for, say, the bottom row here or my favorite example, these wacky half ovals. Since the S4S batchfix will only give new-style cutouts to files that don't already have them, and will not alter the cutouts of files that already have the new kind, they can't just release a quick and sloppy version and then do a second one to pretty everything up later, so it won't be released until it's going to do a really good job.

@damianford Some of your complaints are based on bad info, most of the rest are overreactions, all of them don't belong in this thread (see the mod post a couple of entries before yours), and I don't have time in my life to reply to any of them. (Also, we've known for over a week that we were getting another patch 5 days from today.)

Just wanted to give a quick apology on the behalf of the community that are rushing you guys to get this fixed. Take your time, I know nothing about coding etc, but these seems like a long and tedious job so thank you for working on this! Will be ready whenever the fix is, even if it's not for like 6 months. Look after yourselves modders, we love you and the work you do (even if it should be EA doing it in the first place)

No matter how you feel and how valid your opinion is or isn't, this thread is not the appropriate place to be trying for an argument and putting down other members.

Just wanted to let Andrew know that I appreciate him taking the time to work on a batch fix for us. I can't imagine following through with such a gargantuan undertaking with so many people being selfish and demanding and completely disrespectful. I personally couldn't care less how long it takes, I'm just thankful it's being worked on by someone with more knowledge on the topic than I. So thank you, and godspeed in finding a simple, effective solution.

i sure hope this new patch doesn't undo all the hard work Andrew is doing on the long-anticpated batched fix for doors, windows and arches! Fingers crossed.

i sure hope this new patch doesn't undo all the hard work Andrew is doing on the long-anticpated batched fix for doors, windows and arches! Fingers crossed. I don't think so, from the looks of it the latest patch was mostly to add content for the Hispianic Heritage month. Otherwise the details of it are just a few unrelated bug fixes. Unless they secretly changed the windows again I think we're good. Besides, the windows that have been personally fixed by creators still work for me. (You can find some in this thread:https://sims4studio.com/thread/22180/creators-who-updated-doors-windows?page=3)

Hello, I have decided not to be BellaCandice any longer and would like to delete my account. I am actually a 60-year-old early retiree and ill! That's why I'm asking for deletion!
Thank you very much for your help and for a nice time with the Sims!
