Hello!
I'm the beginner-est of the beginners when it comes to modding. I've done a few recolors of 2D objects like tiles and paintings, but that's it. I've been looking to find a particular kind of dresser, which I can't find anywhere, and so I figure I should just make it myself.
What I want to do is take a preexisting dresser, and make it so that the drawers are along the short side rather than the long side. I literally have no idea where to begin other than I need to use Blender. Does anyone have advice?
Thank you!

Since drawers don't open and close, you won't have issues with interactions. Just as you suggest, clone a dresser, export ALL the meshes (one at a time works best for me ), edit a mesh in blender, import back into your clone.

What dresser is it? Some don't even have drawers made as part of the mesh and are just painted on in the texture.
