Not sure if I ever introduced myself. I'm Redmallie (Red for short). Love the Sims but I've only had the chance to play TS3 and TS4. Without S4S, TS4 would be tremendously frustrating, so thank you very, but very much.
EDIT: Sorry to add this here, but I am lost. I was looking for information about how to reset the directory so that S4S searches for stuff in a Testing folder on my desktop and leaves my Default skins, etc. untouched for batch fixes. Is this possible? Thank you.

Hello, Redmallie. Welcome to the forums.
Why not just rename your Mods folder into something else, and your 'testing' put it in the sims 4 folder and name it 'Mods,' that way S4S reads that folder and you can look through it? Then, when you're done, you can just change it back to 'Testing' and your original Mods folder back to 'Mods'? I do this a lot when I want to look in packages without putting the stuff into my main mods folder.

Hello and welcome! I'm not entirely sure what you're asking for. If you open up S4S, click on the settings menu and press on the three dots in the same row as "Sims 4 Documents" and then change the location, that may help you. If you're still having problems, you can open up a forum HERE (even though it's more of a S4S problem than a creator problem, but I still think that's the best place for help). I hope you're able to fix your problem!

Hey there!
I used to make mods all the way back in Sims2 for my younger sister and have recently gotten into playing Sims4 after it was gifted to me.
I've become addicted to all the create CC out there and have a mighty need for a few bits aren't around (or are broken/no longer supported by the author), so I figured perhaps I would dip my toes back into the water and check out the modding scene. :D

Hello ellieelfin. Welcome to the S4S forums There are allot of helpful threads here. The full index can be found HERE. If you need help with your projects, feel free to post your question in the creator help section. Have fun! Hello and welcome! Since the Sims 4 doesn't have any kind of color wheel, many of us find the ability to recolor with the s4s a great tool! The process is pretty simple, you can find a tutorial on how to do it HERE. Photoshop is recommended, but if you can't use it, I recommend pixlr, a free photo editting program that has a lot of the functions of photoshop. I hope you're able to figure it out! Best wishes! I found recolors pretty easy as I am familiar with Photoshop and I had a lot of fun doing them Now I realise that I really needed The Sims 4 Studio because I missed the color wheel so much! Thank you, LuvMySimz and deathpoke1qa

I'm glad you're channeling the true spirit of a modder - to add something to the game that hasn't been added or needs to be fixed. I wish you luck on your repairing journey and I can't wait to see the content you create!

heyho, and first of all apology for my bad English
I'm KaneRayNov and I've been playing the Sims since the first part, but I've always paused, but I've always created things, especially I love building buildings, and Sims is perfect for that.
I'm just starting modding Sims 4, but I'm fully motivated to create something unique.

Hi everyone! I joined a while ago, but I don't think I ever said hello. I am slowly building my skills using the tutorials I have found, so I wanted to thank everyone who has contributed to helping inexperienced people such as I who want to try and create their own content!

hi im mandi, and i am new to this site. after the latest batch i noticed i cannot change the hair colors of my cc( not cc i made cuz i have not made any, but cc i have downloaded) and after googling this topic i read on your site for over an hour. i saw that if i downloaded this and followed some steps to change to "allow to random" it should fix it. however, i am confused. if i download this is it only for things i personally create( which are none) or all my downloaded stuff? i am wary of a lot of sims 4 "fan made" things due to this pop up saying its microsoft and my computer has a bad virus, and it has come up only on sims sites. however that said i love the sims and have thousands of cc. i need to fix this issue so i can continue enjoying my favorite game. can someone help me out?

Hi lilashkat4, EA has stated that they plan to fix this bug that was introduced in the last patch. While Studio has a batch fix that will work on some (but not all) hairs, I think the best thing to do is wait for EA to patch this bug out.

Hello Everyone My name is Timmy and been lurking here for a while. I played long time ago the very first Sims and Sims 2 with my daughter and little by little started doing some mods and cc for private use. Later (as she grew up) I bought Sims 3 and about all expansions and started to produce some machinima and things like that. Also used Sims many times to build some dreamy houses for fun and to clear some thoughts and possibilities for my writing projects. Haven't published any books (yet) but who knows what will happen some day. Coming to Sims 4. I had many busy IRL years but finally started to read whats happening in the Sims World. First it was easy to find a cracked version of the game (talking about the Sims, I would prefer calling it a tool) and think I will just test this version for some fun, but well You know, soon I noticed I will spend a lot of my free time with this and everything around it so I made the decision to buy the game and some expansions. Got a bit frustrated about the speed the game and the helpful tools around there got updated so a official software makes it easier to live. Looking around here at Sims 4 Studio I can see many very talented people and so much enthusiasm I am happy I found my way here. Thank You everyone for the tools, the tutorials & information and finally the cc:s and mods. I'm gonna continue learning, filming (machinima) and modding and visit here more often after finally made my introduce here. Updated the game with latest expansion late yesterday evening (I live in Finland) and wanted to post here before I dive to the Sims world . Thank You all.

Hi everyone! I joined a while ago, but I don't think I ever said hello. I am slowly building my skills using the tutorials I have found, so I wanted to thank everyone who has contributed to helping inexperienced people such as I who want to try and create their own content! It's never too late to say hi! I hope the tutorials are helping! There are tons of people in the community who have the capacity to make cool things using S4S and I hope that our introductions can help point them in the right direction towards their goals (plus that means I get to download the cool stuff they make later so we all win). hi im mandi, and i am new to this site. after the latest batch i noticed i cannot change the hair colors of my cc( not cc i made cuz i have not made any, but cc i have downloaded) and after googling this topic i read on your site for over an hour. i saw that if i downloaded this and followed some steps to change to "allow to random" it should fix it. however, i am confused. if i download this is it only for things i personally create( which are none) or all my downloaded stuff? i am wary of a lot of sims 4 "fan made" things due to this pop up saying its microsoft and my computer has a bad virus, and it has come up only on sims sites. however that said i love the sims and have thousands of cc. i need to fix this issue so i can continue enjoying my favorite game. can someone help me out? Hi Mandi! I used the batch fix thing and I'm not having problems but, beyond that, I don't think there's much that can be done. I'm going to put my faith in S4S's Administrator's response; we'll just have to wait and see if another patch comes out shortly. Still, I hope things work themselves out soon. Good luck! It's actually really surreal to read because I've used Sims games for machinima making and playing around with story ideas, too! This site has everything you need to learn how to make awesome content, but never be afraid to ask for help in the Creator's Help Section HERE, or even just to discuss your projects or your thoughts on the Sims in the various forums HERE, HERE or HERE. I hope you have fun in your dive into the sims!
