I found a nail mesh and wanted to make new standalone colors. But the texture while go over the nail when making a stand-alone item. Submitted in wrong threat by accident 😅 when creating recolors , then it’s gone. The mesh is uploaded for all LODs for this standalone. I want to make multiple nail sets so creating recolors is a no go . Whole nail is complete on the recolor. So I’m a bit of confused...any idea’s?

Hi. It's hard to tell from afar, but it can be either texture overlapping ( you put on something that has textures close to nails' textures ) or weights-related issue ( the fingers underneath nails have different vertex group values then nail plates ). Try to place this image over you nails' diffuse texture and see if it does not go beyond the border. Do you remember what the sim wore on the first pic? Try putting the same items one at a time and pay attention to the nails. Some of them may have textures in the wrong place.

In the second photo she wears a top from Island Living and a recolor short that I made, nothing happens. And I found out that it's not the jumpsuit that's she wearing in the first picture but one of the accessoires (either the earring or necklace) that is bothering the nails. The necklace is from Vintage Glamour stuff and that one is the item that is causing the texture error. The earrings look doesn't seem to change anything.
This is the necklace I ment. But it looks like the nails are conflicting with most necklaces from the game.

Then it's a problem with the uv island placement. You could inform them about it and ask if they could move the uvs (but they will also have to re-do all the textures...you too) or just inform people that there will be some texture overlapping with necklaces.

Gonna PM them then. But since I'm allowed to use the mesh, maybe I can fix it? This is the mesh The mesh also has this issue

Yeah, if you can, you should fix this oh! Did she/he made them to big? I tested her other nail creations too and they have the same problem. I contacted the creator few days ago but doesn’t seem to be very active on TSR. Thanks for the tip, I’m gonna fix it so hopefully that will solve it :D

Yeah, they must be using an incorrect template. The one i gave you is made by The Sims 4 developers, so it's official.

But having a new problem with the texture. it should be this as it was before The mesh was edited: a bit hard to see but on each nail the whole image is showing. You can see a palmtree on each nail. now I got this? The image is spread out on all nails. Or most of them.

You changed the placement of uv inslands, you need to edit the textures, too Open the blend file again, select the nail, select uv_0, switch to Edit mode, select everything with A, in UV editor go to UV - Export uv layout. Export it as 1024x2048 or 2048x4096. Use this file as a reference for texture editing

My blender auto saves the UV's as 1024x2048 but that's fine since I don't need bigger. Gonna test them again just in case .
