Hi! I am trying to create stairs, and it kinda works except for two things: The landing doesn't expand to meet the width of the stairs when I make them more than one tile and when I try to expand the actual stairs more than one tile, instead of stretching they just repeat the one tile position. Here is some pictures of my issue: Expanded to two tile, it won't repeat. Making a landing and it won't expand to four tiles. I managed somehow to expand it halfway, lol. I was told to make this post and tag brujah Package Mesh 1Mesh 2Mesh 3

Thank you very much for this tutorial brujah ! I have done a few stairs and my work around for the landings were to edit game landings in Milkshape because that didn't fiddle with their functionality since bringing them into blender seemed to "unpaint" them. I just want to make sure I am on the right track here, this is the same method for the stairs as well? Do either things have to be cut a specific way or just as long as there are three distinctive cuts and correct vertex painting they will function correctly? With the stairs, is there bone assignment at all? That was another thing that confused me. I wasn't sure if I was missing that as well. When I converted stairs from a previous game there was Armature included in the mesh and I was not sure if that was similar to bone assignment and a needed component or just something left over from the previous game.

CoffinFit Yes, all mesh parts need to be cut and vertex painted in this way. Some stairs do not have "non repeating" parts so will not have the black and red vertex paint. No weight paint or bones required.

brujah Thank you so much! I have one more question and I think I have the hang of it after that. When I made my first set and was trying to figure out why nothing was stretching or multiplying (now I know!) I came across this section in the stair resource. Changing that bottom number made it so that my stairs did repeat. Is there anything that needs to be adjusted in S4S in the stair resource or is that dependent entirely on the stairs we clone as a base? Or just leave it be since they will be painted and cut correctly? Edit: Helps to attach the photo. lol

If you compare a base game solid stair to the get to work stair (which mine is based on) you may see a difference in this section.
