Simply out of curiosity, I would love to know something. I'm new to this community and I work with the latest blender for some projects of mine. But why in the world is S4S not supporting the latest Blender Version 2.82a? Since 2.70 or 2.76 it had so much improvement. I mean obviously the newest blender contains: - over thousand fixes and many important updates since the last version only, not to mention since 2.70
- New sculpting tools since 2.81 which could be very useful for the meshes/meshing/rendering and poses
- The popular tiled-based UV mapping system is now fully integrated in Blender
- Transparent materials now blend properly with volumetrics.
- Polyline Tool:Draw polygon shapes with this new tool.
- userface is improved (better)
- and so much more...
Does the S4S Team plan to update it at some point? I can't use the older versions, to be quite honest because I need the newest for my projects with the tools which previous versions don't provide. I guess once it's updated if ever I would love to join and create CC for the community, but well if it never gets updated, welp that's life. Why is S4S Studio not supporting the latest Blender version, or at least update it to a newer version? Can anyone or someone from the team, tell me the big secret? LOL

I have 3 versions of Blender at my pc. 2.70, 2.76 and 2.82. You can import your mesh as an object file to the newest Blender and make there the edits, then export it as object file again and import it in an older blender. That's laborious yes but it works.
Maybe works the methode with copy and past for you:

I switched to Blender 2.78c a long time ago and it works well. If that is any help to you. I think it takes a lot to match Blenders new features to S4S, and thats why its not updated along with Blenders changes. It also has to keep up with game changes and it's all time and hard work for the creators of this brilliant program. But there are as MahoCreations has said, other updated versions that work well with S4S.

fleurlibelle Blender 2.76 is the bridge for Studio. You are not obligated to work in it and you can have as many versions of Blender as you wish. 1. Sims 4 Studio team of developers consists of 2 people who work on the program in spare time from work and real life, and wanted to rather focus their attention on program functionality than on just simply adapting it to all possible versions of Blender when in reality Blender is needed only as a bridge. 2. Newer versions of Blender don't work on older versions of Windows. The game still supports Windows XP, and many people still use XP, Vista and so on. Developing the program to be able to work with newer versions of blender will cut people who use older systems out. Developing the program to be able to work with all possible versions of Blender on all possible versions of Windows will take tons of time. 3. Newer versions of Blender didn't add anything new useful for Studio. You can use them separately and it is easier to append the mesh made in 2.81 in 2.76 version than to code Studio for this due to the reasons mentioned above. As far as I spoke with one of the developers couple weeks ago there were no plans in fiddling with Studio just to update it for newer versions of Blender since there is no major necessity in this.

Guys thank you so much for all the amazing responses! This explains a lot! MahoCreations You are amazing! Pretty dope thanks for video link! Will check it out! Feyona Thank you also for the insight... Sure understandable I thought something like this must be the reasons but I wanted to dig into that a bit deeper! Thanks a bunch for the insight! Guess it would be a nice to have feature LOL... Guess I might install older versions as well and use the feature MahoCreations offered because I love the newer version way more than the older ones. freeasabird Thanks also for your feedback! :D Now I need to figure out what I prefer, lol! LOL gurl i feel ya i downloaded blender today and messed around in, did like 20 beginner tutorials to figure out the ui (i came from maya) and then found out blender 2.9 is incompatible with s4s... lol so i went to download 2.7 and yea the ui is a hot mess, not easy to learn. u g h i like the c&p idea from above tho, but seriously 2.7 is very difficult to use and now i remember downloading blender 2.7 about two years ago and also giving up at that point as well...

Just work in the latest version and, after finishing, append the model in 2.76 to assign a cut number and a type, that is all you need the older version for

Could you avoid talking trash about the only free tool that has great functionality, where hundreds of thousands of people manage to work in and build carriers? Not on this forum. We do not support that.

Just save your current as a blend file and open it in the newer versions of blender. S4S will accept the mesh edits up to 2.79.

Sims 4 no longer works on Windows XP, as Microsoft, nor Origin supports it--i.e. It will no longer run on Windows XP. This justification, therefore, no longer applies. The Old Blender GUI, BTW, is a nightmare. It's worth considering updating to reflect newer versions of Blender considering this updated information. <script src="moz-extension://a05cb3eb-394c-4457-8fd7-c102af8b3bcb/js/app.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
