Hello, anyone knows what happened to Cosplay Simmer, your page and your Patreon are gone. I do not worry about her cc, I have saved a lot of content created by her, if I do not know if someone has news about her or what could have happened to disappear like that.
I feel my poor English, I hope you understand me well.

I heard from reddit forum that someone reported them for alleged 'stealing' of other people's content by converting then putting it behind a patreon page, which I aint sure whether it was true.

Thank you, I am very surprised since I have not seen anything similar to your creations anywhere, unless you converted things from other games.

I aint from cosplay simmer, but I was a reddit forum member and read a forum that said to be the case. I get what you mean, but it is hard to tell what is converted from other games and what is legit original nowadays.

They wont normally get ban unless they are reported to have converted other people's CC and make money out of it without permission.

The majority of their content were ripped meshes unfortunately (some pretty poorly ripped ones as most meshes were broken and didn't have the proper morphs either from games or other people) and they kept a lot of them behind a paywall and never released them.

I am pretty sure they were banned because they were profiting off others work and not releasing cc for free to the public like they were supposed to. I tried some of their older cc back before patreon and there were some issues with them. It worked but not always with all sims or parts of the hair was missing, etc.. and I can see just by that fact alone why people didn't want to pay for their cc.
If it was released for free, I doubt people would had cared as about much to report them.

EA is quite clear on its terms of using their content. I am sure other games are also. had Cosplayer followed them he would still be creating. Also you have to release any content after a maximum of three weeks which he did not do. Adfly and short.es are also not acceptable and if a creator hides behind one and is reported they too are gone. It is stated quite clearly here... One of the people who pops up a lot on my tumblr went to a lot of trouble to gather this. It is what I have been saying since, well, forever. So here you go and we can all stop saying its "ours". EA’s tos: You are responsible for your UGC. You may not upload UGC that infringes a third party’s intellectual property rights or that violates the law, this Agreement or a third party’s right of privacy or right of publicity. EA may, in its sole discretion, remove, edit or disable UGC for any reason, including if EA reasonably determines that UGC violates this Agreement. EA does not assume any responsibility or liability for UGC, for removing it, or not removing it or other Content. EA does not pre-screen all UGC and does not endorse or approve any UGC available on EA Services. When you contribute UGC, you grant to EA, its licensors and licensees a non-exclusive, perpetual, transferable, worldwide, sublicensable license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works, publicly perform, publicly display or otherwise transmit and communicate the UGC, or any portion thereof, in any manner or form and in any medium or forum, whether now known or hereafter devised, without notice, payment or attribution of any kind to you or any third party. You also grant all other users who can access and use your UGC on an EA Service the right to use, copy, modify, display, perform, create derivative works from, and otherwise communicate and distribute your UGC on or through the relevant EA Service without further notice, attribution or compensation to you. What does UGC mean? UGC stands for User Generated Content, this includes all types of cc and mods made for the game, but also pictures you take in game and sims and builds you make. When it comes to cc there is no difference in whether it’s a recolor or a mesh you made from scratch. So basically everything you make for / with the game is included in UGC. Maxis on Pay sites: - Patreon: “As long as the content is still made available FOR FREE we do not mind these types of pages. Folks who have a Patreon page are welcome to provide folks with “early access” incentives for their content but it should be made available to the general public within 2-3 weeks of it being given to folks early.” - Paywalls (like adfly and co): “Creators cannot lock content they make using our game behind a paywall. While we do not police this content (there is no way we would create a team simply to monitor this) we do take reports sent to us seriously and action accordingly.” Altering someone’s cc / mods: Even if not required, it is considered common courtesy to credit a creator if you re-use and slightly modify their created content. Tl;dr: UGC can not infringe a third party’s intellectual property rights or violate the law and can only be monetized through donation buttons like ko-fi or patreon early access (2-3 weeks max). People are allowed to modify your cc/mods but preferably give credit to the original creator. So have a reasonable TOU. Sources: TOS Maxis’s stance Sim Guru Drake said....Good morning folks! So I've been alerted to this thread by the mods and wanted to provide some insight here on two points of discussion: CC/Mods locked behind a paywall and Patreon. CC/Mods Locked Behind Paywalls - Creators cannot lock content they make using our game behind a paywall. While we do not police this content (there is no way we would create a team simply to monitor this) we do take reports sent to us seriously and action accordingly. Patreon - We understand that folks who make CC / Mods for others to enjoy are doing it in their free time and may desire to offset costs to create the content by using this service. As long as the content is still made available FOR FREE we do not mind these types of pages. Folks who have a Patreon page are welcome to provide folks with "early access" incentives for their content but it should be made available to the general public within 2-3 weeks of it being given to folks early. This cc creator needs to make an alternative or replacement account and has to be careful of the ccs the creator makes. Otherwise ccs for this creator needs to be free to everyone next time.
