Hello all! I've been banging my head against this issue for the past few hours. I've done my best to research this issue before posting and have come up empty. Here's what's going on: someone recolored one of the EA winter jackets. After downloading the package file I went into S4S to make sure it was categorized properly (by age, outfit type, sub part type, etc.). I have the outfit type set to "Cold Weather" and the sub part type set to "Jacket". The problem is the jacket keeps showing up in Everyday where I don't want it to (it's a winter jacket after all). I started S4S again, created a project with the file, and began playing around in the Warehouse tab. After clicking on "CAS Part" I scrolled down to "Tags" and opened it. The outfit type and sub part type is there, but there is nothing listed as Everyday, so there is nothing for me to remove. I've thrown my hands up in the air at this point lol.

Tag "Situation" and "Cold weather" only and it will appear only in outfits for cold weather. If it doesn't help share your file here by giving a direct link to downlod.

The tags sometimes don't register the first (or tenth) time you save them. Are there several recolors involved? Make sure you've clicked the category you want for one of the swatches, then click "apply to all swatches" button, then save, and then click through the swatches to see if it's stuck. Then reopen the file and see if it's still sticking. Now test ingame.
I think the "jacket" category doesn't necessarily mean it's an outer jacket. It just means it's a jacket of any kind. Various EA clothes are categorized as jackets if they are plain jackets (zip-ups or button-ups or open front or any of the sort), and I don't have Seasons so the category clearly isn't meant to be seasonal.

Still looking for help with this issue. (I'm sorry ahead of time if bumping is not allowed, it's been a few days though)

I did some more digging and found a post by Orangemittens from way back in 2017 stating, "This issue is the result of how EA has the categories set up. It seems the main "everyday" category is set up to show items with tags of all kinds. The everyday tag you can select from the filter panel appears to work, although it includes many items some might not consider everyday clothes (such as alien garments and odd City Living outfits). I think the only real fix for the failure of the main sort to work would need to come from EA." I even asked on a Sims discord and they pretty much said the same thing is happening to this day. If I'm wrong, please correct me, but I'm very frustrated that it has taken this long to find some sort of answer. I did as I was asked in an earlier post by linking the packages, and after days of no response, hence the frustration.
