Hello all, I keep experiencing my UV map for my clothing created in MD appearing as a tiny orange blimp that cant not be scaled in blender nor zoomed in on, when in UV Image editing which is frusterating because it is causing me to not be able to create a proper texture map for coloring. Also ive had success with one CC dress i created but when i go into the sims 4 game to add it to the player, i am not able to use the body sliders nor does the dress mesh to the size of the sims body. I dont know if that is because i deleted the faces on the original Nude model so there is virtually no sim body underneath the dress. Any help is much appreaciated... The link to my blender file: drive.google.com/file/d/1Jlm2FiYr-bkCPzNz7I1xyEIBRZX3_QQf/view?usp=sharingThank you

Hi.
After you import this obj in Blender, make sure to rename the uv map to uv_0. I think you combined the garment with the body before doing it, which is why it looks the way it does. If you did not, share the blend file please

mauvemorn yeah I’ve been following a tutorial on YouTube and I wonder if maybe when they are saying to join the clothing and the nude avatar it’s at the wrong time...I’ve also did the naming of the UVs at the beginning which it also shows to do at the beginning..just don’t understand why the clothing would appear as a small orange blimp in the UVs that are supposed to be joined between it and the nude avatar...

See that = thing at the bottom? Click and drag it down to show all maps. You have 4 of them because the names were capitalized. Do not use Decimate modifier. It messes up everything. Not only that, but since the mesh was split along pattern borders, each of them was retopologized individually, so now you will have gaps along the borders. Just make meshes in md in quads and raise particle distance so that the wireframe is not too dense. Use these settings to transfer a uv_1 map Vertex paint dresses like this Vertex paint dictates what variation (skin-tight and robe-like) of deformation maps the painted area will deform according to in CAS during body customization and animation. 00FF00 is for skint-tight areas, 3FFF00 is for any skirt-like area ( skirts, bottom parts of dresses, coats, aprons, etc). Start by choosing 00FF00 and Paint - Set vertex color 1). Disable Limit selection to visible; 2). Holding Ctrl, lasso-select the bottom part of the mesh starting somewhere in the middle of the pelvic bone; 3). Enable sync; 4). Press B and deselect legs; 5). Switch to Vertex paint and enable Face selection masking for painting; 6). Type in 3FFF00; 7). Paint - Set vertex colors; 8). Press A twice to deselect and select everything again, Paint - Smooth vertex colors Try to avoid tutorials where the author tells you to use two versions of Blender/joins the garment with the body before making the former functional/does not explain WHY they are doing what they are doing/uses Decimate modifier.

mauvemorn Weird, cause i thought i had expanded the UV box, but okay dually noted about the capitalization and the weight paint. Will definitely stick to the tutorials found on here at this point, cause i seem to keep running into discrepancies when using others on Youtube. I have one more question about using blender, so which version would you suggest at this point? I literally have 3 different versions due to tutorials stating 2.70 is the only one recognized by s4s , and then because of the whole date transfer and weight paint issue... Thank you for your help!

There is no good tutorial on making clothing in MD on this forum. The only thing i can recommend is this blog and this posts4s studio supports 2.7, 2.76-79. 2.79 is the least stable, there's not much difference between 2.76 and 2.79. You cannot do a uv_1 transfer in 2.7. Delete 2.7 and try navigation s4s to 2.76-79. Restart both s4s and Blender. If it won't work, in Blender go to File - User preferences, click on Install from file button, navigate to _:\______\Sims4Studio\Blender\Scripts\, and choose io_sims.py, click on Install from file and restart Blender and s4s again.
