I downloaded the newest version of s4s. I got an alert from my avast program when opening S4S. I've never had this problem before. I took a chance and let s4s through, but I still can't open s4s. Every time I get same message... . What is happening?!
You need to whitelist S4S, as avast is picking it up as a false positive (basically thinking it's malware when it isn't).
Edit: Did you download it from the official source (aka this site)?
why Have I never had any problems when updating s4s before then? why is it happening now? yeah ok I'll try again. I read the instruction how to do it when running into problems using anti virus programs. I did exactly as it stood without any luck. Maybe I wasn't doing it right. I thought something was wrong with the program itself because I've read other people have said they have trouble opening s4s. Yes I downloaded it from this exact site. However I did get frightened as I was reading on twitter a few hours ago about a fake s4s program or something ? I'm sorry to bother you with all this. I'm sure I'll figure it out...It's just weird, I've used s4s for a long time without running into any sort of problems. so you can assure there's nothing wrong with the s4s program itself? I'm just anxious.
my antivirus is off, it doesn't open I tried running as administrator- still doesn't open Tried repairing my sims 4 game- still doesn't open Tried reinstalling 3 times - still doesn't open Even Turned my firewall off.- nothing
When i click the exe file, my mouse loads for like 2 seconds and the application doesn't even open, It's not running in the Task Manager or anything, dont know what im doing wrong, my pc is up to date, Windows 10
Hello! New here. Made this account literally just to post this. The same thing happened to me. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program several times, even though my Windows and TS4 are up to date, it never worked.
I SOLVED IT BY:
1. Downloading the .NET Framework Repair Tool www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135 and 2. Deleting the entire Documents\Sims 4 Studio folder (not just logs. the entire folder) from Documents and all old installation files. I also removed them from Recycle Bin. 3. Re-installing normally.
Then it worked just fine. I really hope this helps people out, because I've been stuck with it not working for ages and have been very frustrated.
