You split the mesh + did not blur the transition. Before redoing it use Remove doubles with Merge distance set to 0,0001 to join the mesh back, otherwise it will not blur And read this guide again, i showed how to select the mesh and blur Skirt should be vertex painted differently OHMYGOSHHH IT WOORKS PERFECTLY FINE NOW. Yes, I did try that the first time you said it and it did not work. But it works now by following all your steps. Thank you. One last thing, how to know the appropriate colors in vertex paint?

By sampling them from the reference that looks the closest to yours. Make sure to change the shading from Solid to Bounding box before doing it though. And sample from the, um, edge (the bottom of the skirt, the end of the bangs). Mermaid tails are painted oddly, i'm still not sure where exactly to sample the second color But when it comes to clothing, there is only 2 colors: 00ff00(skin-tight) and 3fff00 (robe-like) They are easy to memorize All hex codes have 6 digits Both have letters f 2 ff sandwitched between 0-s 3 followed by three f, the rest are 0s

You basically thought me everything from start to finish. I'm so grateful to you.
