Birds of a Feather painting recoloring?

Hello. I've done many painting recolors, but I've been having a hard time trying to get this recolor of the Birds of a Feather painting just right. My texture file has a white background in the panels, but it always looks gray and the colors muted.

Does anyone know how to turn the graying effect from the original off?
